The Sinan shipwreck was a trade ship sunk on the sea in front of the Jeong-do Island in Goryeo period while it started from Kyungwon(慶元) in Yuan on 1323 and cruised towards to Hakata(博多) and Tokyo(京都) in Japan. This article estimated that the Japanese pirates had invaded to Goryeo between June 27 and 28, 1323 was not a plunderer group for simple looting but highly likely warriors dispatched by the Gamakura's feudal government to discover whereabout of the Sinan Shipwreck. This article suggested the ground of such estimation that Japanese Pirates invasion was timely near to the date of reaching to blue ocean after loading the cargo on the Sinan Shipwreck on June 3rd, and they invaded to the proximities of Gunsan-do Island and Chooja-do Island. Both islands were the points where almost 495 Japanese people had drifted on the way to the southern China on 1263. Therefore, the officials of Kamakura Bakuhu regarded that the ship, Sinan was adrift as the ship did not appear at the estimated time of arrival and searched the proximities of Gunsan-do Island and Chooja-do Island where Japanese people had been adrift.
The seaway from Kyungwon to Hakata was branched to the route crossing between the southern sea and Jeju Island of Goryeo and another route crossing between Jeju Island and Goto Islands. If the Kamakura Bakuhu`s warriors had appeared at Gunsan-do Island and Chooja-do Island to discover the Sinan shipwreck, it seems to be feasible that the navigational seaway was connected to Hakata through Kyungwon, southern sea of Goryeo and Jeju Island.
It is possible to estimate the sunk date of the Sinan shipwreck in between June 20 and 25 in consideration of the terms from Kyungwon to far sea and the date of Japanese pirates appearance. Yuan has a record of observing the star on June 22 and Goryeo-sa (高麗史)recorded the observation of the star on June 26. There is an article that the farming land had been flooded due to big deluge at the northern part of China on June 25. In consideration of these facts, it is plausible to see the time of sinking from June 23 and 25.
