We can find some peoples in our neighborhood who are looking for peculiar craftworks in order to decorate individually their living spaces. They are the ones who are trying to find new pleasures in the life creating his own living space different from others.
In this respect, metal craftsmen are required to cope with the trend with timely conceptions. And the works are to be produced on the basis of particular and fresh ideas in the understanding of individual tastes and demands of the people, more specifically the items of metal craftwork that are necessary for each place of the living space. Now is the time for the metal crafts to avail itself of a good opportunity.
The metal craftwork is really a field which makes it possible for us to decorate individually our living spaces and also, is the most appropriate one which allows us to live a more convenient and beautiful resident life.
But, though the metal crafts has many strong points to produce our living space harmoniously, invigoration of it is expected to be difficult as far as the perception and recognition of metal craftsmen is not united with the living space.
Of course, the active participation and cooperation from the country and society is required, but the invigoration seem to be impossible if the will and professional mind of metal craftsmen to link their work closely with the life are not mobilized and practiced as a whole.
Accordingly, as practical contents, the following four points are going to be suggested as a conclusion.
First, the metal craftsman should cultivate a profound understanding and rational insight through-out the whole field of the living culture of the general public. If he neglects it and absorbs himself in his own subjective abstractness. he become necessarily far away from the mass of people and it is because he cannot create a crafts culture of the living space without understanding of their aesthetic consciousness and tastes.
Second, the method of application of it to a space has to be researched putting emphasis on the conception of works and items. The scale and technique side of works is a matter to be discussed later. Because the development of peculiar ideas and fresh items become driving forces to lead the living culture of the general public.
Third, the ascending effects of the metal crafts should be pursued through a joint cooperation with the industrial world. It is because the difficulties, occurred in materials, scale and technique sides, can be overcome and more expanded items and areas can be established through the introduction of the technical know-how accumulated in the industry and various factors of modern crafts.
Fourth, the operation system of artist brand by the connection between the industry and the artists, has to be sought. Because the system is capable of inspiring the metal craftsmen with desires and vigors to contribute much to the popularization and invigoration of metal crafts.
