일부 간호사들의 에이즈 관련 지식과 태도에 관한 연구 = A survey on the knowledge and attitude of AIDS in some nurses

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The purpose of this study was to exame nurses' knowledge and attitude about AIDS, and tried to offer the basic data in order to develop the adequate AIDS education program. The subject for this study consisted of 281 nurses who participated in five hospital at Chollanamdo Sunchon city. Data collection was done from December 20th, 1996 to June 20th, 1997.
Evaluation tool was used questionnaire that developed by Soon Bok Jang ; to measure knowledge and attitude about AIDS. The reliability of the instrument for the AIDS related knowledge and attitude were Cronbach's alpah .7219 and .7987 respectively. Data was analyzed by SAS program including real number, percetage, means, standard deviation, ANOVA, t-test, pearson correlation coefficient.
The results of this study were as follow;
1. General characteristics of the respondents were as follow; 38.8% of them were under twenty-five years of age, 27.8% of them were having clinical experience about 1~3years, 37.7% of them were married, 0.4% of them were having experience of sexual disease, 96.8% of them wanted to learn about AIDS.
2. The mean score for AIDS related knowledge was 17.3 points out of a possible maximum score of 22. But the correct answer rate for AIDS transmission mode was between 46.3-64.8%. They confused about AIDS transmission mode.
3. Among the attitude evaluation items, the highest agreement item was 'The education of AIDS must be performed in Nation' (99.3%). In contrast, the lowest agreement item was 'Allow that AIDS carrier go to the same school with our children'(30.9%).
4. An analysis of the relationship of AIDS related knowledge to general characteristics of respondents showed statistically significant difference for the group of 31~35 years of age (F=3.35, P<.01), having had a pregnancy (t=2.273, p<.05) having had a abortion (t=2.708, p<.01), the group o thinking have a knowledge about AIDS (t=2.061, p<.05).
5. An analysis of the relationship of AIDS related attitude to general characteristics of respondents showed statistically no significant difference.
6. An analysis of the relationship of AIDS related knowledge to the attitude of respondents showed statistically no significant correlation
