``The Protocols of the Elders of Zion`` which appeared in Europe at the end of the 19th century is regarded as the direct evidence of ``the conspiracy by the Jews for the world domination.`` The document consists of 80 pages and 24 chapters and contains what the 12 Jewish elders discuss for the world-wide domination and management. Since each chapter is the record of one meeting, they can be said to hold 24 meetings for the subject at least. The main content of the ``Protocols`` is the speech notes a Jewish leader provided in front of and with those ``Elders of Zion.`` The document could be evaluated just as some comic episodes of no historical value at all we are to consider. But on the contrary it attracts our gaze in two ways. First, the creation and diffusion of the document itself leads us to see how influential and prevalent the antisemitism in Europe was at the end of the 19th century. Second, ``the Protocols``, though absurd in its contents, contributes to stimulating and spreading the antisemitic tendency over the European Christian world. The document has been translated and published in various languages and in many countries, inevitably arousing the serious antisemitic sentiment all over the world. What is worse, the book is now widely read in Arabic countries, resulting from and in increasing hostility toward Israel. And I`m afraid that their antisemitic fire is already over the acceptable and curable level. This paper refers to the backgrounds and development of the historical theories which have caused and added fuel to the Jewish conspiracy hypothesis, and aims to discuss the true nature and effectual results the document gives to us and to the world.
