전후를 비행하는 전쟁병기 -『철인28호』에 관한 문화사적 고찰 -

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본고는 전후 초창기 서브컬처를 대표하는『철인28호』의 문화사적 의미를 전쟁과 관련해서 고찰하려는 시도이다. 『철인28호』의 작자 요코야마 미츠테루는 전시기 소국민으로서 소개(疎開)를 체험했다. 흔히 어린이의 전쟁체험으로 일컬어지는 소개체험은 트라우마로 남아있는 경우가 많다. 그러나 B-29의 강함에 대한 동경을 바탕으로 철인28호를 조형한 작자에게 그러한 트라우마는 발견할 수 없다. 철인28호의 소유권을 두고 일본과 열강이 다투는 구도는 전전-전시기의 제국주의의 재현과 다름 아니다. 비행하는 로봇이 외국의 적을 무찌르는 스토리의 콘텍스트에서 작자의 소국민 시절을 지배했던 담론 상황이 답습되고 있음을 발견할 수 있다. 『철인28호』는 과학의 양가성과 전후 일본의 양가성을 동시에 드러내는 텍스트이다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This article attempts to examine the cultural history of Tetsujin 28-go, which represents a subculture in the early postwar period of Japan, in relation to the WW Ⅱ. Yokoyama Mitsuteru, the author of Tetsujin 28-go, experienced evacuation as the Shōkokumin during wartime. The experience of evacuation, often referred to as a childs war experience, is often remembered as traumatic. However, there is no such trauma for Yokoyama who created Tetsujin 28-go based on his admiration for the power of the B-29. The battle between Japan and the other great powers over the ownership of Tetsujin 28-go is a reenactment of the imperialism of the prewar-wartime period. In the context of a story in which a flying robot defeats a foreign enemy, we can find the discursive situation that dominated the authors childhood as the Shōkokumin. Tetsujin 28-go is a text that reveals both the ambivalence of science technology and the ambivalence of being postwar Japan.
