사회체육학 교육 프로그램의 인증 기준 필요성과 모델에 관한 연구 = A Study on Needs and a Model of the Education Program Accreditation Criterion on the Sports and Leisure Studies Program

The purpose of this study is to make a model of the education program accreditation criterion on the Sports and Leisure studies program. Accreditation means that a public institution accredit a document or a record has made justly. It is already used in many college programs in U.S.A. and especially in Engineering programs. Engineering programs have a firm criterion and an institution-ABET (Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology). So in this study, authors have used the ABET accreditation program for making the Education program accreditation criterion on the Sports and Leisure studies program.
The purposes of accreditation are to authenticate a graduate who has passed the accredited program can work in sports and leisure fields, to facilitate educational development, to encourage new and innovating methods in this part and to offer people exact information about that.
The criterions of accreditation program are students, educational purpose of the program, results and assessments of the program, professional element (curriculum), faculty, facilities, supportment and finance of education institution, and program criterion. The accreditation process is designed three parts-paper assessment before a visit, a visit working(major part), and accreditation after a visit. And all of these completed by accreditation administrators and visitors.
The results of accreditation are classified five levels. Accreditation is only differentiate that the program has built a minimum criterion or not, and not calculate in number for preventing to make a class standing. If an education institution obtained the grade 'NA(not accredit)', they can appeal against that.
Some part in Korea, accreditation program is tried. And in author's opinion, making a accreditation program, a reliable accreditation institution and doing accredit are good for facilitating development of the sports and leisure education.
