국어학 : 하이브리드적 사고와 한국 문화 교육 방향 = Hybrid thinking and directions of Korean culture education

Dissemination of knowledge and information through offline and online methods is becoming common due to Information Technology. This phenomenon results in the adoption and combination of various information and knowledge creating peculiar and exotic products and images. Thus, we need to teach the Korean language with a focus on culture education on the basis of hybrid thinking and trends which feature differences, complexity and diversity. Through this culture education, learners can have the advantage of more creative and learner-centered education because hybrid thinking-based education includes combinations of several elements. Hence, culture education should not focus on the simple assimilation and understanding of Korean culture. Instead, Korean teachers should teach learners to compare cultural differences between Korea and their home countries, and to understand various cultural characteristics of different countries. Futhermore, after considering learners` needs, personalities, and goals, teachers should modify and change pedagogical goals and curricula in order to contribute to creating new and particular culture. In this study, I have explored a model of culture education which focuses on the combination of Korean culture and learners` home culture, and their subsequent outputs, based on the comprehensive view of culture. In addition, I have considered a lesson plan by choosing a special theme of traditional dress to help learners understand Korean traditional dress and the characteristics of both countries` traditional dress by thinking about the origin of their own country`s traditional dress. I have also discussed the curricula of culture education which include creating revised traditional dress and practical design.
