犯罪者의 矯正에서 專門職間의 팀웍에 대한 硏究 = A Study of Interprofessional Team Approaches for the Ex-offenders Rehabilitation

The purpose of this study is to find out the possible interprofessional collaboration with the community based correction program which is needed for practicing in Korea.
Its composition areas follows:
First, an introduction with study purpose, questions becoming issues and limitations.
Second, theoretical background to prove the study; it contains:
A. Definition of the interprofessional team with an early definition by Luszki(1958) to the present work; the three elements of a common objective, differential contributions, and a systems of communication for an interprofessional team to exist by R. Kane (1983)
B. Rationale and arguments for interprofessional teamwork to deal with human problem-solving process.
C. The role of professionals and their behavior on teams to provide to services for the probation and parole programs.
D. The social worker's roles and relationships among collaborating professions in the field of community based correction programs.
Third, three hypotheses raised from this study on the basis of the antecedent literature:
A. The judiciary parts will be continued in its role for the probation systems rather than be transferred to the private sector.
B. Korean rehabilitation organization and a few social service agencies for the ex-offenders will take the responsibility to provide more effective roles for the client's social readjustment and re-socialization.
C. New agency will be needed to integrate and coordinate for the community-based·corrections.
The one hundred-twenty one subjects who responded where the prosecutors; judges; governmental officers working at the detention centers, juvenile institutions, prisons; medical doctors; police officers; workers in Korean rehabilitations centers for the ex-offenders; and social workers. The dependent variables were subject's occupation and time devotion to the probational work. The independent variables were professional roles; interprofessional participation and various aspects of probation and parole. To analyze the data, basic frequencies, crosstabs (with χ²and significant levels) and t-test were calculated from SPSS subprogram.
The findings are as follows:
1) 93% of subjects are presently working with one or more other professions, and no significant conflicts among them except less communication; 2) there was lack of knowledge and understanding about human behavior in the social environment, and difficulties to accept its clientele through individual counseling; and 3) the null hypotheses were rejected, so the community-based correction systems have to collect some ideas and advantages from existing organizations and to present the interdisciplinary team model.
The findings of this study suggest that the role and function of interprofessional team in community-based corrections must be given more emphasis in the active communication and participation among professionals, and also that the quality of services must be given more consideration within ex-offenders rehabilitation context.
