다문화교육정책 방향 탐색을 위한 소셜 네트워크 분석 및 현황 비교·분석 = Social Network Analysis to Explore the Directions of Multicultural Education Policy

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

To understand people’s interest and demand for multicultural education policy, this study conducted a keyword network analysis of YouTube videos and comments with multicultural education policy as keywords. The most important keyword was found to be “culture,” followed by “education,” “school,” “student,” and “teacher.” The crucial keywords with high connection centrality were “culture,” “education,” “policy,” “support,” “school,” and “society,” which formed a complex network. In the analysis of the connection centrality of YouTube big data, “culture” and “education” showed the highest connection centrality, and interest in educational policies was high. Policy targets with high connection centrality were classified into foreigners, families, students, youth, women, children, citizens, parents, counseling, career, employment, human rights, safety, and migration. Beside the issues caused by language differences, problems related to health and human rights, which are basic rights, arose.
Finally, the five themes were classified through topic modeling analysis. The first set of major keywords includes “world,” “understanding,” “citizen,” “lecture,” “university,” and the second set is “family,” “country,” “women,” “youth,” and “problem”; “school,” “student,” “office of education,” “broadcasting,” and “learning” make up the third set. The fourth set of major keywords comprises “family,” “woman,” “foreigner,” “health,” and “marriage.” It can be predicted that there are more multicultural families resulting from marriage with foreign women than with multicultural families arising from marriage with foreign men. Lastly, “citizen,” “future,” “research,” “plan,” and “forum” appeared as the main keywords.
Therefore, when establishing a multicultural education policy, policies on minority religions addressing religious differences and policies on women should be established more broadly, and further attention should be paid to elementary and higher education. Simultaneously , policies to address problems caused by language differences and problems related to health and human rights, which are basic rights, should be established. Lastly, in line with the changing society, it is necessary to consider future education and civic education and reflect them in multicultural education policies.
