국문 초록 (Abstract)

趙孟頫 <鵲華秋色圖>의 藝術性 연구

본 논문은 조맹부가 그린 <작화추색도(鵲華秋色圖)>의 예술성을 연구하는 논문으로 산수화로서의 가치뿐만 아니라, <작화추색도>의 사회 문화적 배경과 철학적 사유(思惟), 창작기법을 통한 예술적 가치와 제발(題跋), 인장(印章)의 의미를 파악한 것이다. 이 연구를 통해 조맹부 회화(繪畵)의 예술적 특징과 문인화 풍격 등 회화사적 의미를 총괄적으로 정리하여 시·서·화(詩·書·畵) 삼절의 내면적 사고(思考)와 방향성, 역사적 가치 등에 대한 이해도를 높이고자 하였다.
구체적으로 본 논문에서는 조맹부가 그린 <작화추색도>의 예술성을 단순히 산수화로서의 가치뿐만 아니라, 조맹부와 주밀(周密)의 친분과 사회 문화적 배경을 이해하고, 송나라 황실의 복고주의 문화를 계승하고자 하는 예술적 저항 의식에 대한 사상적 태도와 역사성을 밝혀 본 것이다. 또한 문인들과 수장가들이 남긴 제발(題跋)과 인장(印章)에 나타난 작품에 대한 소회(素懷)와 몇 백 년에 걸쳐 소중하게 보관 전승되어 온 역사적, 예술적 가치를 분석해 보고자 한 것이다.
조맹부의 철학과 작품 세계, 특히 <작화추색도>에 관해 문화사적 가치를 조명해 보면서 조맹부의 회화 사상과 창작기법, 그리고 작품에 남겨져 있는 제발과 인장의 역사적 흐름과 가치를 종합적으로 분석하고 시·서·화에 대한 사상과 심미관(審美觀)을 고찰하고 고의(古意)중시 사상과 서화동원론(書畵同源論)의 발전과정과 문인들의 관점을 연구한 결과 시(詩)와 서(書)의 근원적 뿌리를 찾을 수 있었다.
<작화추색도> 작품 속에 구현된 시·서·화 삼절의 체현(體現)과 평원법(平遠法)을 중심으로 피마준(披麻皴) 기법과 하엽준(荷葉皴) 기법으로 그려진 창작기법 등을 구체적으로 밝혔다. 특히 실경을 기반으로 한 작품 구도와 구성, 색채와 붓놀림에 대한 해석을 통하여 청록산수(靑綠山水) 양식과 동원(董源), 거연(巨然)의 산수 양식을 결합하여 원대 문인 산수화 발전의 새로운 방향을 제시한 작품 세계를 구체적으로 해석해 보았다.
<작화추색도>에 남겨진 20여 편의 제발과 160여 개에 이르는 인장 분석을 통해 건륭황제(乾隆皇帝)의 관심과 애정은 물론 동기창(董其昌)과 문인들이 <작화추색도>를 사회적, 문화적, 예술적으로 얼마나 높게 평가하고 가치와 의미를 부여해 왔는지를 밝혀낼 수 있었다. 또한, 날인된 낙관(落款)과 인장(印章)의 내용과 모양, 위치를 상세하게 파악하여 건륭황제와 항원변(項元汴)의 인장이 얼마나 많이 다양하게 찍혀 있는지를 실질적으로 검증할 수 있었고, 이를 통해 작품이 수백여년 동안 어떻게 전수되어 왔는지에 대한 역사적인 흐름도 심층적으로 추정해 낼 수 있었다.
이상과 같은 점에 대한 규명을 통해 ‘글씨와 그림은 근원이 같다(書畵同源)’라는 조맹부의 서화용필동법(書畵用筆同法), 서화본래동(書畵本來同) 및 서화동원론(書畵同源論) 등 문인화의 이론적 토대가 확산되어 미학의 주도권이 화공의 그림에서 문인의 그림으로 전환되는 계기를 만들었다는 과정을 파악할 수 있다. 또한 전통적인 기법을 터득하기 위해 고전을 배우고 현실을 반영하기 위해 자연을 배워야 하는 문인화에서 반드시 필요한 고의(古意) 개념을 명확하게 이해할 수 있었다.
이상 본 바와 같이 원(元)대의 사회 문화적 배경을 이해하고, 복고주의 문화를 계승하고자 하는 예술적 저항 의식에 대한 사상적 태도와 역사성을 보여주고 있는 <작화추색도>의 예술성에 대한 연구 분석을 통해 조맹부 회화의 철학과 사상, 배경, 작품의 구도 등의 가치 발견이 문인화 예술 작품의 창작과 감상을 위한 기준과 방향성을 제시해 줄 수 있을 것으로 기대할 수 있다.

A Study on the Artistry of Zhao Mengfu's <Autumn Colors on the Que and Hua Mountains>

This paper studies the artistry of <Autumn Colors on the Que and Hua Mountains> by Zhao Mengfu, and identifies not only the value as a landscape painting, but also the socio-cultural background, philosophical reasons, and artistic value through creative techniques.
Through this study, we tried to improve our understanding of the inner thinking, direction, and historical value of poetry, calligraphy, and paintings by comprehensively organizing the artistic characteristics of Zhao Mengfu painting and the style of literary painting. Specifically, this paper sought to understand the value of the artistry of <Autumn Colors on the Que and Hua Mountains> by Zhao Mengfu, as well as the socio-cultural background. It was intended to analyze the historical and artistic values that have been cherished for hundreds of years by interpreting the impressions of the works in the postscript and seal left by writers and art collectors.
We look for cultural and historical values regarding Zhao Mengfu's philosophy and the world of works, especially <Autumn Colors on the Queen and Hua Mountains>. It comprehensively analyzed Zhao Mengfu's painting ideas and creative techniques, and the historical flow and value of the postscript and seal left in the work. In addition, as a result of examining the ideas and aesthetics of poetry, calligraphy and painting, and studying the development process of intentional "Theory on the Same Origin of Calligraphy and Painting",“Calligraphy and painting are the same in the use of brushes” . The fundamental roots of poetry and calligraphy are the same not only in brush technique and composition, but in artistic intention beyond form and composition.
Through more than 20 the preface and postscripts and 160 seal analyses left in <Autumn Colors on the Que and Hua Mountains>, Emperor Qianlón's interest and affection, as well as how highly literators have evaluated <Autumn Colors on the Que and Hua Mountains> socially, culturally, and artistically.
By grasping the details, shape, and location of the stamped signature and seal in detail, we were able to substantially verify how many different 'seals' of Emperor Qianlón were stamped. Through this, it was possible to estimate in-depth the historical flow of how the work has been passed down for hundreds of years.
Through the investigation of the above points, Zhao Mengfu's calligraphy method, "Theory on the Same Origin of Calligraphy and Painting" ,“Calligraphy and painting are the same in the use of brushes” that "writing and painting have the same source" were identified.
It can be understood that the theoretical foundation of literary painting has spread, creating an opportunity for the initiative of aesthetics to be converted from paintings of painters to paintings of literary men. In addition, it clearly identified the concept of intention that is essential in literary painting, which requires learning classics to master traditional techniques and learning nature to reflect reality.
In this way, the value of Zhao Mengfu painting's philosophy, ideology, background, and composition was discovered by researching and analyzing the artistry of <Autumn Colors on the Que and Hua Mountains>, which understands the socio-cultural background of the Yuan Dynasty of China and shows the ideological attitude and history of artistic resistance to inherit retro culture.
Through the results of this study, it can be expected that it will be possible to present the criteria and direction for the creation and appreciation of literary landscape paintings.
