한국근대 민족종교 원초자료 연구와 LOD시스템화의 과제 = A Study on the Raw Data of Ethnic Religions in Modern Korea and the Task of Systemization of LOD

국문 초록 (Abstract)

한국 근ㆍ현대 종교에 관한 기존 연구에서 가장 큰 한계는 무엇보다도 연구의 토대가 될 문헌적 자료를 쉽게 접근하기 어렵다는 사실이다. 특히, 근대 민족종교에 대한 연구는 일제강점기를 비롯하여 해방이후 많은 학자들이 역사와 사상사적 관점에서 주목할 만한 개별적인 연구업적이 산출되고 있음에도 불구하고, 기초적인 자료가 종합적으로 정리되지 못하였다.
근대 한국사회의 종교지형이 어떻게 형성되어 변화하게 되었는지를 알기 위해선, 1860년대 조선조 후기 개항기를 거쳐 일제치하(1910～1945)에 이르기까지 한국 근대화과정의 혼란과 격동시기에 일어난 민족종교운동에 대한 기초적인 연구가 필요하다.
무엇보다 중요한 것은 수집된 역사적 1차 사료를 일정한 분류체계에 의거하여 전체 자료에 대한 색인 작업, 원문에 대한 번역, 해제(解題) 등을 체계적으로 작성하여 데이터베이스화를 구축함으로써 기초자료에 대한 연구의 접근성을 극대화 하는 작업이다.
일제강점기 조선총독부 시기의 종교정책에 대한 연구를 위해선 대한제국시기 한국통감부에서 간행된 종교에 관한 잡건철(宗敎ニ關スル雜件綴)(1905-1909)에 대한 연구는 매우 중요하다. 이 문서는 일본종교의 국내 포교 행정과 관련된 공문서철로서 「종교의 선포에 관한규칙」을 포함하여 일제의 종교법규 및 통감부의 종교와 관련한 행정, 일본종교의 국내 포교현황과 동향을 알 수 있는 소중한 자료이기 때문이다.
또한, 조선총독부 고등법원 검사국에서 발간한 『사상월보(思想月報)(1931-34년)의 후속지인 『사상휘보(思想彙報)(1934-43년)의 기사에는 1930-40년대 일제의 사상통제와 탄압상황을 생생하게 전달해주는 귀중한 자료를 찾아볼 수 있다.
이와 같이 역사적 1차 사료를 일정한 분류체계에 의거하여 전체 자료에 대한 색인 작업, 원문에 대한 번역, 해제(解題) 등을 체계적으로 작성하여 데이터베이스화를 구축함으로써 기초자료에 대한 연구의 접근성을 극대화하는 작업이 필요하다.
근대한국 민족종교운동과 문화에 대하여 ①시간을 축으로 한 역사적 원초자료(Raw Data)에 대한 조명, ②원초자료에 대한 주제중심의 심층적 비교분석, 그리고 ③공간적 차원에서 일본과의 연동성을 다면적으로 조명함으로써 단순한 기초자료의 제공이 아닌 종합적이며 전문적인 토대연구의 학문적 성과를 이루는 데 있다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

One of the most difficult limitations in past and present studies on modern Korean religions is based upon the difficulty of accessing original literary sources that should be the foundation of academic research. Especially, as for the study of modern ethnic religions, even though many scholars during and after the Japanese colonial period had produced remarkable achievements in their studies from the perspective of history and ideology after liberation, fundamental materials were not comprehensively arranged.
In order to understand how the religious topography in modern Korean society was formed and changed, there is a great need for basic researches on the ethnic religious movements that occurred in the period of confusion and turbulence during the process of Korean modernization from the latter period of ports being opened in the 1860’s of the Joseon Dynasty to Japanese colonization (1910~1945).
The most important thing is to systematically establish indexes, have original texts translated, and interpret the primary historical materials which were collected through a filtering system. This kind work in which a data base is created can help us maximize accessibility to fundamental materials and enhance and promote better quality research and study.
For the study of religious policies in the period of the Japanese Government-General of Korea (Joseon Chong"dogbu) during the Japanese colonization, it is very important to study The File of Miscellaneous Matters on Religions (1905-1909), which was issued by the Japanese Residency-General in Korea (Joseon Tong"gambu) during the period of the Great Korean Empire. This document is a public document file related to the administration of Japanese religious missionaries in Korea. It is a precious material that allows us to know about the regulations on religions and the administration of the Japanese Residency-General in relation to religions of Japan, and then current situation of that time to propagate Japanese religions in Korea as well as ‘Regulations about the Proclamation of Religion.’
Furthermore, in articles of The Collection of Reports on Ideologies (Sasang-huibo, 1934-1943) which was issued following the Monthly Report of Ideologies (Sasang-wolbo, 1931-1934) issued by the Inspection Bureau of the High Court in the Japanese Government-General of Korea, we can find valuable materials which clearly reveal how ideologies and circumstances were suppressed and controlled by Japan.
As such, it is necessary to maximize research accessibility to fundamental materials by creating a data base through the establishment of systematic indexes, the translation of original texts, and the interpretation of primary historical materials based on a filtering system.
We should carry such works concerning ethnic religious movements and culture of modern Korea through the an understanding and clarification of the historical raw data in terms of time, through an in-depth comparative analysis of raw data by theme, and through a multi-dimensioned illumination on interoperability with Japan in terms of space. By doing such research works, we can not only supply simply basic materials but achieve academic products based on comprehensive and specialized foundation research.
