수지절단 재접합 환자의 신체상, 자아존중감, 우울에 관한 연구 = A Study on the Relationship between the Body lmage, Self Esteem and Depression of Amputated Finger Micro-replantation Patients

This study is the research on the descriptive correlation which was tried with the purpose to recognize the relation among the body image, self-esteem, and depression.
The research subject people were 116 patients who are hospitalized over one month in the general hospita1 and hospital which is specialized in the conjugation of body parts located in the Kyung-ki province are hospitalized through the external examinaton after leaving the hospital.
As for the research tool to estimate the body image, Osgood’s Semantic Differential Method and Jung Keum-hee’s Tennesee Self Concept Scale were used afterr being adjusted to this study, and regarding the estimation of the self-esteem Rosenberg’s tool for estirnating the self-esteem which was adapted by Noh Eun-yu was used, and as for the estirnation of the depression, the tool which Ahn Kui-yu-loo adapted CES-D was used.
The data collection period was from 19 March in 2003 to 27 Januaryn in 2003, and the structured survey sheets were used and those sheets distributed and then collected.
The collected data were analyzed by the statistical method such as the percentage, t-test, ANOV A, Bonferroni postmortem examination, and Pearson’s Correlation by using SPSS WIN 10.0 program.
The research result is as follows.
1) The degree of the body image according to the general characteristics showed the statistically meaningful difference in sex(t=4.560l, p=0.000) and scholarship(F=3.209， p=0.016), and thus the degree of the body inlage was reported to be highter in men than Women, and as the scholarship is higher.
2) The degree of the self-esteem according to the general characteristics showedthe statistically meaningful difference in sex(t=3.277, p=0.001) and scholarship(F=2.471, p=0.049), family form(F=3.907, p=0.023), and economic condition condition(F=4.029, p=0.020), and thus the degree of the self esteem was reported to be higher in men than women, and as the scholarship is highter, and in the big family than the nuclear family, and as the economic condition is higher.
3) The degree of the depression according to the general characteristics showed the statistically meaningful difference in sex(t=-5.254, p=0.000), and number of severed fingers(t=-2.569, p=0.011) and thus the degree of the depression was reported to be higher as the number of the severed finger gets higher.
4) The relation between thebody image and self-esteem which the subject people recognized showed the static correlation, and thus as the body image was higher, the self-esteem gets higher(r=0.672, p=0.000).
The relation between the body image and depression showed the reverse correlation, and thus as the body image is higher, the degree of the depression gets lower(r=-0.666, p=0.000). Additionall, the relation between the self-esteem and depression alos showed the reverse correlation, and thus the self-esteem is higher, the degree of the depression gets lower(r=-0.555, p=0.000). As the above research result suggests, the nursing mediation should be executed to reestablish the body image of the patients who experienced the conjugating operation for their severed finger's, and for this the nurse himself or herself should correctly understand the change of the patient’s body and the degree of their accepting degree. Consequently, the upright mediation can be achieved and positive body image will be helped.
