고등부 특수학급 교사들의 전환교육 운영과 개선방안에 관한 인식

The purpose of this study is to give fundamental infomation for extending transition services for students with disabilities by investigating the current status and teachers' perception on the high school special class transition services. The subjects of this study was 114 high school special class teachers. The questionnaire was composed with 26 questions about the current conditions and perception of teacher on the transition services. The result of this study was as follows.
First, in the current conditions of transition services of high school special class teachers, transition services teachers was mostly special teachers, and the purpose of transition services mainly focused on adaption and inclusion of students in their community. Schools suffered serious shortage of facilities and materials for transition services and received one hundred ten thousand to three hundred thousand won as the related budget.
Training programs for parents on transition services were provided once a year, and teachers took training related to transition services once or twice. In addition, most of them did not write out Indivisual Transition Program(ITP). Industry-academic cooperation for transition services and connection with the community were not active.
Second, high school special class teachers' perception on transition services, most of high school special class teachers thought that professional teachers should be in charge of transition services and expert abilities of transition services teachers should be abilities to make connection with the community. They also thought that the contents transition services should teach about social ability and establishment. ITP should be made from middle school. Besides they added that transition services should be held using facilities of schools and the community. Time of job guidance was suitable for time for transition services. Support by levels and degrees of disabled students was the most significant factor for transition services to be accomplished efficiently. Main process of ITP was cooperation with related institutions. While transition services were planned and carried out, the biggest problem was lack of perception of the community-related companies and their support.
Finally, high school special class teachers generally thought that training of practical skill in diverse educational contents was needed to improve transition services and close cooperation with the community was the prerequisite for increasing effectiveness of transition services.
They strongly emphasized that on-site transition services should be carried out in order to solve its problems and methods connected with the community-related companies should be practical on-the job training under their staff's monitoring.
