This paper focuses on the thoughts of supporting an international student`s needs as a goal from the perspectives of the Japanese language education. As an example to supporting an international student (referred to as Z), we investigated a Korean student through the student`s personal records and 5 interviews over a year. Through the interviews, the investigation centered on Z`s experiences as an international student in Japan, her thoughts from the experiences, and her. In conclusion, The interview investigation was classified into 4 categories of ‘self-explanation,’ ‘making friends,’ ‘class participation,’ and ‘variety of activities,’ At first, Z thought pessimistically about her status as a ‘foreign international student’ but after making friends like she did in Korea and through, so she found the originality of being a ‘foreign international student’ and used it effectively. By having someone to talk to from class and clubs, she started to enjoy participating in difficult classes and attending and participating in practices. Therefore, the formation of network and actively carrying out tasks is related to each other. As stated above, in Japanese language education, it is important to support the student studying abroad to think optimistically of their status as a “foreign international student” and use his or her originality to convert his or her idea of “I can`t do it because I am an international student” to “I can do it because I am an international student.” Therefore it is important to teach students in Japanese language education to recognize one`s originality and carry out. Up to this point, the Japanese language education set its goal to practicing the ability to building networks. However, the Japanese language education must set the big goal to helping students build network through participating and variety of activities. Which means, Japanese language education must not only focus on transferring knowledge but providing opportunities to build network with his or her surroundings by participating in variety of activities.
