근대시기 전통음악 장르용어에 관한 연구 = A Study on the Terminologies of Traditional Music Genres in Modern Period

This paper studies some of the terminologies of traditional musical genres during and after the Japanses colonial period. Especially the paper traces the meaning of those terms based on newspaper and magazine articles of the time. The main body of this study could be divided into two: First, I looked at modem times the traditional genres of music with the occurrence of the change in terminology. Saw it again divided into two pans, one aspect according to the historical flow of the term genre and one saw a collective term for traditional music itself, chosonak 朝鮮樂, koak 古樂 or kuak舊樂 and kugak 國樂 of the deployment aspects. Second, the modem period examined individual aspects of the traditional music genre term Aak 雅樂, chongak and minsogak 民俗樂, etc. Here again it divided into two pans, in a broad sense as a genre term in a narrow sense as a ballad, song, kaguk歌劇 or changguk 唱劇, pansori 판소리, a genre term was investigated. As considering the traditional genres of music in modern times, despite 50 years, a relatively short period of time, too many terms were generated and changed. Moreover, it was also found in modern times, the meaning of existed terms was changed into other meaning, new terms were made, and the using of some terms was ceased. Various terms were used, and the term was used across multiple genres. Settlers strongly going to Western music because it was confusing and the main instruments of more foreign music as Western music and to distinguish themselves in order to be referred to the necessity that reason is because it was born. Also be attributed to modern music space, the type of performance, subjects of modem music education courses and the environment of music culture had been changed largely. Seen until now in modern times the term, however, there seems not to lock trend.
