탁주섭취가 인체에 미치는 영향에 대한 연구 = A Study of Metabolic Effects in Human for Ingesting Tak-Ju

This study was devised to observe some effects of Tak-ju on metabolic changes in human. The study subjects were 25 men, aged 29 to 53 years old, they were divided into two groups according to the following experimental terms.
1. First experiment; Ten subjects were administered 600ml of Tak-ju or 8% alcoholic drink at the fasting state, and then they were observed for various hematological parameters at varied times 0, 1, 2, and 4 hours.
2. Second experiment; Fifteen subjects were divided into two groups, 7 taking 600ml of Tak-ju and 8 taking 600ml of 8% alcoholic drink in the afternoon(P.M. 4 : 30) once a day, taking ordinary diet, and then they were observed for the same parameters as first experiment at varied times 0, 1, 3, and 5 days.
The amounts of hemoglobin, hematocrit in the whole blood and total protein, albumin, urea nitrogen, total lipids, triglyceride, total cholesterol, total bilirubin, direct bilirubin, thymol turbidity, arid the enzyme activities of amylase, L.D.H. in the serum were measured.
The results obtained are summarized as follows;
1. In the first experiment, the serum glucose level decreased(p<0.05) 4 hours after Tak-ju administration, in contrast the glucose level decreased significantly(p<0.01) than that after Tak-ju administration even two hours after 8% ethanol drink administration. In the second experiment, the glucose levels in the serum of each group showed no remarkable change throughout the study period by taking both preparation.
2. In the first experiment, the hemoglobin content of Tak-ju group showed no remarkable change throughout the study by taking the preparation, but that of ethanol group showed a tendency to decrease 2 hours or 4 hours after 8% ethanol drink administration. In the second experiment, the hemoglobin content of Tak-ju group showed no remarkable change throughout the study period by taking the preparation, but that of ethanol group showed a tendency to decrease 3 days after 8% ethanol drink administration.
3. In the second experiment, the hematocrit value of ethanol group showed a tendency to decrease 3 days after 8% ethanol drink administration, then increased significantly(p<0.02) after. 5 days
4. In the first experiment, the total protein content in the serum of Tak-ju group increased(p<0.05) 4 hours after Tak-ju administration, but showed decrease(p<0.05) 2 hours or 4 hours after 8% ethanol drink administration. In the second experiment, the total serum protein level of Tak-ju group had the tendency to increase as the experimental period goes, but that of ethanol group showed significant decrease(p<0.02) 1 day after ethanol administration.
In the first experiment, time changes of serum albumin content showed significant increase(p<0.02) 4 hours after Tak-ju administration, but increased with significance(p<0.01) 1 hour after ethanol drink administration, and returned to normal level 2 hours or 4 hours after 8% ethanol drink administration.
In the second experiment, Tak-ju group -showed no remarkable change in serum albumin level throughout the experimental period, but that of 8% ethanol group showed significant decrease(p<0.01) at 3 days or 5 days experimental period each.
Serum urea nitrogen contents remained at almost fixed level without remarkable variations throughout the experimental period in both experiment.
5. The amounts of total lipids, triglyceride, and total cholesterol in the serum of each group remained at initial levels throughout the study period after taking either prepations.
6. The amounts of total bilirubin, direct bilirubin, and thymol turbidity in the serum of each group remained at initial levels without remarkable variations throughout the study period after taking either preparations.
7. Enzyme activities of serum amylase and L.D.H. showed no remarkable changes throughout the study period after taking either preparations.
