We can say that mission of Catholic church is to salvate human being and Evangelization in short. Therefore Catholic church pratice mission of itself in the world practically. For the Evangelization. All activities which church larries out is pastoral activitiy. The object if the pastoral activity. The concrete subject of the pastoral activities is not superaural world but real society.

Especially, morden society intends to be complicated and diversed. So the pastol activites also become to be varioused and subdivided. In this way among the various pastol activities of the church, in particular, social welfare occupy impotant position in the way church influence to society through charities and social activities remarkably. The form of activites are various. There are private service, servies in hospital, orphanage, an asylum, school, public business and so on. In development countries, social work is so pouerfulrole that. Those work give christins' devotion, and in the panticipate in to the world, social work assist evangelization of word properly.

By the way, modern social welfare changed. In this situation we need question that how different social welfare act of Catholic church, other religious organization and nonreligious organization. Such question not dissolve only social welfare field. So this article have an purpose discover a basic constituent for trace a answer of this question.

This article is insis of 3 chapter. In the frist chapter, we will considerate concept of morden social welfare. In view of social welfare studies and considerate Theory of Catholic social work through An encgclic and 'Gudium et spes'. Indentity.

In the second capter, we will considerate. The realities of social selfare viyt if mordern korea Catholic church with referance to materials of 1997.

In the third chapter, we will divide theory and practice that suggestion for the Korea Catholic social welfare indentity establishment. On this study we will susset a few basic impormation concept first human being dignity and social justice is radical when catholic church carries about social work. Threrfore catholic social work must be done on the basis of this cocept and in this concept the sectors of catholic social work are divided public social welfare and non goverment social welfare second. We must use catholic social welfare facilites and parish third, we have ti try preists and christians to recognize Important of social welfare by studies, investment, education of impormation.

In cinclusion, if welfare act of Catholic church point to realization of the dignity of man and development of society, ultimate such all efforts will be springboard, that can lead to human being and a creator.
