Kan-do or which is called Buk kan-do has been designated a representative symbol of Korea history and a representative place of the independent activities. However, an area where the emigrants had lived in was the space to live and also to accomplish their desire as a future of tomorrow. Thus, Kan-do district might not their sincere hometown, but it might be their second hometown which made the emigrants feel better as safer world from the Japanese harsh colonial rule. The emigration to the Manchuria was closely connected with the Japanese invasion policy. Particularly, the Japanese colonial rule in the Korea peninsula led the Koreans to emigrate in the Manchuria explosively. As the emigration launched in 1910s, the Japanese government intensified their control promptly. Especially, the economic invasion functioned as an essential weapon to spread their force. Through the economic invasion in 1920s, and after completed the Manchuria nation, the Japanese government concentrated their efforts in stabilizing and organizing.
The Koreans’ collective migration came in many various forms in 1930. Firstly, the Japanese government-general and the Mansun colonization company carried out the emigration policy through the regional formation to consult their own convenience. Nowadays, the geographical designation in Kan-do such as Jeon-buk toon, Jeong-up toon is related with the fact. Secondly, they differed from between the propaganda in those days and the subject of the policy. That is, unlike the existed Korean, the emigrated the collective Korean migration had to live a desperate life shocked by the new culture. Since 1935, the Korean who had migrated in Nam-wha ma tang district and Dae whang -Gu district had to live with not a sweet allure of the Mansun colonization company which was the first advertisement in domestic but the desperate and exhausted realities of life.
Thirdly, Chang jung(policy to change from a tenant farmer to an independent farmer) of the landed farmer became a vain slogan. The Japanese government propagandized a new policy taking advantage of deep attachment in land, leading many Koreans to emigrate the collective migration from the Korea peninsula, giving them a vague hope but, actually it was Chang Jung of the landed farmer(refer above passage).
However, the emigrated Koreans substantially was not different from a life of the tenant farmer hired in the Mansun colonization company, after all it was very rare to search the independent farmer. Consequently, the life of the Korean in the Manchuria was not like that of a paradise which the Manchuria nation had advertised constantly but the one that barely prolonged their life on the harsh and sterile land.
