기형도의 시와 미결정의 리얼리티 = Gi Hyeong-do’s Poetry and The Reality of Uncertainty

국문 초록 (Abstract)

이 글은 기형도 시의 생명력이 2000년대 이후에까지 힘을 잃지 않고 지속적으로 영향력을 지니게 된 원인으로서, 기형도 시 텍스트들이 보여주는 미학적, 형식적 특성을 분석하고자 했다. 이 글에서는 기형도 시에 나타나는 ‘미지’의 감각이 개방한 사물의 복수적이고 다면적인 의미와, 이를 통해 드러나는 세계의 미결정성(未決定性)이 갖는 특유의 리얼리티에 대하여 논하였다. 이 글에서는 기형도의 시적 주체를 모호하고 불명한 세계에 대하여 유일한 의미로 정의하지 않고 감각하는 주체로 파악하였다. 그에게 세계의 심연은 불안과 가능성을 동시에 교차시키는 ‘빈 구멍’의 이미지로 재현된다. 이와 같은 주체의 감각과 결합하고 있는 것은 의문과 질문을 지속하는 진술의 형식이며, 이 형식을 통해 타자라는 존재의 의미와 자리는 보존된다. 기형도에게 있어 세계는 고정된 의미로 포착되지 않는 것이었으며, 모순적 속성이 공존하는 다차원적 장소였다. 그에게 세계의 실상을 인식할 수 있는 가능성은, 이 공존하는 모순들을 미결정적 주체의 목소리로 받아쓰는 일을 통해 창출될 수 있었다. 이와 같은 기형도 시의 감각이 열어젖힌 시적 의미의 개방성과 독자에게 열어준 해석의 가능성은, 기형도라는 개인의 ‘신화’를 넘어 한국 시문학사에 뚜렷이 각인될 수 있었던 생명력의 원인이 되었다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This paper focused on the reason why the vitality of Gi Hyeong-do’s poetry did not lose its power until the 2000s and continued to have influence. This paper attempted to analyze the aesthetic and formal characteristics of the texts of him. As one of these attempts, this paper discussed the plural and multifaceted meaning of an open object by the sense of ‘unknown’ appearing in Gi’s poetry, and the reality of uncertainty of the world revealed through it. Gi’s poetic subject was identified as the subject who senses the ambiguous and unknown world without defining it as the only meaning. For him, the abyss of the world is represented as an image of an ‘empty hole’ that crosses anxiety and possibility at the same time. Combining with such a subject’s sense is a form of statement that continues to doubt and question, and through this form, the meaning and place of the existence of the other is preserved. For Gi Hyeong-do, the world was not captured in a fixed meaning, and it was a multidimensional place where contradictory attributes coexisted. For him, the possibility of recognizing the reality of the world could be created through writing these coexisting contradictions as the voice of the uncertain subject. The openness of the poetic meaning opened by the sense of the “unknown” of Gi’s poetry and the possibility of interpretation provided to the reader contributed to the vitality that could be clearly imprinted in the history of Korean poetry beyond the individual “myth” of Gi Hyeong-do.
