女子中學生의 衣服色 選好에 關한 硏究 : 서울市內 女子中學生들을 中心으로 = A Study on the Color Preference of Korean Middle School Girls

The Age of youth is a time that man undergo great changes. Their self-consciouseness develops, and they perceive clothes as a means of socialization because they have a growing interest in outward appearances. So youngsters' clothes are very importent for them to live an active life in view of their personal, sociopsychological effects. This is the aspect of the question that this study must consider. For the purpose of presenting theories related to young girls'(esp, girl's middle school students) favorite cloth color, and preparing data for the production and marketing of the girl's dress, this study attempts to understand : 1) young girls preferring colors : 2) their favorite dress color and : 3) factors influencing their choice of dress color.
The research conducted in this study was a questionnaire survey to 395 middle school girls in Seoul, and methods such as FREQUENCIES, F-test, CORRELATION were used to process the data.
The facts found were as follows.
1.The preferable color. The favorite color is violet > white > green > black. The favorite dress color is white > yellow > parplish blue > violet (in the case of an upper garment), and black > pupplish blue > deep blue > white > gray (in the case of trousers or a skirt)
2.The preferable dress color on 4 seasons. Each favorite dress color on 4 seasons is : (1) in spring and summer, yellow and white : (2) violet and black an autumn and winter : (3) an achromatic color is preferred independent of seasons.
3.The purchase behavior related to color.
(1) An interest in a color is high in selecting dress, and extroverts show higher interest.
(2) An interest in the coloring of a dress is relatively high. The more the personality is extroverted, and the more she is light -skinned, the better she is concerned about the coloring.
(3) An interest in the coloring of shoes and a bag is the average. But the more the personality is outward, the better she is inclinded to care for coloring.
(4) The consideration of a figure is relatively high. especially in case of an extroverted, pyknic type girl.
(5) The consideration of a skin color is rather the average. The darker skinned and feebler she is, the better she has a tendency of considering her skin color.
(6) The consideration of a season is relatively high, in particular, for an outgoing girl.
(7) The consideration of popular colors is average. The personality factor also makes a difference between groups.
(8) The sources of information on popular colors are friend > other people's outfits > article on display.
(9) The factor influending the choice of a color in purchasing clothings is not her preterence of a color but matchness of a color with herself.
(10) Response for the disatisfaction to the color after purchasing shows active(eg. exchange or refund)
