중국인 학습자의 자연발화 발음 오류 분석 연구

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

Korean pronunciation is the one of the most difficult parts of learning the language. All foreign learners must overcome pronunciation when learning Korean. Korean and Chinese, especially, has a different syllabic structure, so the mispronunciation easily occurs. This paper analyzes the pronunciation errors produced by Chinese learners of Korean language.
This paper is constructed as following.
Chapter 1 explains about the purpose, methods and preceding studies on the pronunciation errors.
Chapter 2 investigates Korean and Chinese consonant and vowel systems based on the phonology.
Chapter 3 analyzes the pattern of pronunciation errors by frequency. This chapter surveys the occurrence rate of errors and the usage frequency, and describes how the error patterns become different and change. The consonant errors were classified by place of articulation. And vowel errors classified into two types as a single vowel and diphthong.
The results of this study show causes for errors as follows.
First, some similarities and differences between the two languages are found to be difficult for the Chinese learners to pronounce. That is, the errors occur because of the interference of the mother tongue. The Chinese learners have difficulty in pronouncing lenis. During the task, the confusion between lenis and aspirate was identified. In Chinese language, only /n/, /ng/ are perceived as final consonants. The learners, therefore, made errors on the substitution and elimination of Korean final stops. In the case of vowel, they make a lot of errors in pronouncing /ㅟ, ㅚ/, /ㅐ, ㅔ/ and /ㅗ, ㅓ/ as monothongs. Also they have difficulty in pronouncing such diphthongs as /ㅢ/ and /ㅕ/.
Second, the errors occur incomplete rule application Chinese learners have errors when the glottal /ㅎ/ is placed on the final. This problem is caused by a lack of knowledge about phonological and grammatical rules.
So far, studies on the pronunciation errors by Chinese learner have focused on what errors they make and explained the phonological or phonetic reasons why they produce such errors. However, there is no quantitative approach to the pronunciation errors by the way of using a real speech database spoken by Chinese learners. This study is based on Chinese Learners' spontaneous speech in Korean. Also, it is the important note that Chinese learners have errors of glottal /ㅎ/ as initial consonant as well as final consonant.
Pronunciation teaching has to be carried out not only as pronunciation training alone but rather together with lexical and grammatical training. It can not be independent. It is hope that these analysis can provide some insight for more effective ways of teaching Korean.
