敎養國語敎育의 實態와 그 問題點의 分析 : 梨花女子大學校 敎養國語 試驗成績 分析을 中心으로

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This is a study to look into and evaluate the efficiency and efficacy of the Korean language education for the freshmen at the university level in order to propose some changes. This study will propose changes in class formation with emphasis on writing, speaking, and Chinese letters. Finally it will draw to the attention of teachers the appropriateness of exam questions.
The supporting evidence was collected from the answer sheets of 2,074 students enrolled in Korean language classes in the first semester of 1972, and also from the 200 sample answer sheets chosen from these 2,074 students by a random sampling method.
The findings from the analysis of the data show:
1. The average of the Korean language classes were 73.53%, which seems to be fair.
2. The number of top class students (above 90%) is relatively few, whereas a majority of students belong to eh group of average (between 70-79%).
3. The result of the examination shows a great discrepancy between students of different colleges.
4. The examination results from the essay type of test are worse than those from the objective type of test.
5. The result of the test on the Chinese letters was quite below the average.
6. There were some questions in the test far too difficult and far too easy for the students. In other words, inappropriate questions were included in the test.
From the above findings, this writer proposes the following:
1. Class formation should be done in such a way that each class shall be composed of students of the same level, rather than mixing good and bad students as is done at present. It is most desirable that the Korean language class shall be separately formed according to the results of the Korean language test or the university entrance examination, or on a departmental basis for better education.
2. Emphasis should be given to writing, speech, and Chinese letters.
3. it is strongly urged that the teachers pay more attention in making the appropriate test questions.
