숭산종사의 수행론

국문 초록 (Abstract)

숭산 박광전은 원불교 창립자인 소태산 대종사의 장남으로서 교육계에 오랫동안 종사하며 인재함양을 위해서 헌신한 분이다. 또한 숭산은 원광대학교 초대총장으로서 원광대학을 굴지의 명문사학으로 발전시킨 인물이다.
숭산의 인품론에서 종교적 품성과 수학과정을 거론하면서 학교교육과 청소년기, 유학시절의 견문습득과 불교섭렵에 대해 살펴보고자 한다. 그리고 원불교 교서에 나타난 숭산의 수행력과 원불교 교리를 해석한 해석서를 통해서 그의 수행관을 점검해보고자 한다.
숭산의 활동상에 나타난 수행론으로서 삼학병진, 지덕겸수, 언행일치, 병진수행을 강조한 측면을 부각시킴으로써 그의 수행관이 지니는 상징성에 대해 살펴보려는 것이다. 이 모두가 원불교 교리정신에 입각한 그의 『교전』 해석학이라는 측면에서 눈여겨볼만한 가치가 있다고 본다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

Sungsan Park Gwang-jeon, as an eldest son of Won Buddhis Founder Sotaesan, had gone into service of educational circles for a long time in order to cultivate university Students. Also, he, as the first president of WonKwang university, developed the prestigious private institution.
On studying Sungsan’s personality, this study is to know how to enlarge his experience and understand Buddhist thoughts through his religious life and school days such as adolescent period and studying abroad. Also, it is to know his power of practice and the interpretation to Won Buddhist doctrine in his writing books and Won Buddhist Scriptures.
Here, I want to seek symbolism of his view of practices by emphasizing what showed Three-fold Trainings, knowledge and virtue, correspondence of his words and action, parallelism practice as through all his life. This study is well worth enough in his interpretation to the view of Scriptures based on the spirit doctrine of Won Buddhism.
