Firstly, the story of <Dunggagnok>(뎡각녹) is characterized by the bifurcated conflicts in the structure. One is the horizontal conflict which occurred outside of the Royal House and the other is the vertical conflict within the Royal House. The former is the structure of the epical confrontation formed by the conflicts between two parties of the government official, Yang-gyung(양경) and his son, Yang-eurn(양음), and the other government official, Jung-wook(정욱) and his daughter, lady Jung (정소저) who are related to Royal authority. The latter is the structure of epical confrontation formed by the conflict between Yang Gui-bi(양귀비) and Jung-bi(정비).
Secondly, in the aspect of unraveling the conflicts lady Jung gets through the serious crisis by pretending to die but the integral settlement of horizontal conflict does not stop but rather transformed into another structure of the vertical conflict in the change of the main characters. The vertical conflict seems to be settled by the victory of Yang Gui-bi, stepmother-in-law, who turned Jung-bi out by artifice. However, the outcome of vertical conflict is reversed by Jung-bi who was once expelled from the court. Jung-bi disguises herself as a man and saves the state and the Royal Household by defeating the villainous retainers. In the whole structure of epical confrontation, therefore, the horizontal conflict structure changes into vertical conflict structure. At the same time, the structure of epical confrontation of the vertical conflict is settled as Jung-bi's victory of saving the Royal Household and the state.
Thirdly, considering the structure of epical confrontation that Jung-bi sweeps the villainous retainers and saves the Royal Household and the state, the author seems to uphold the woman's right as a human. Moreover, it is shown that the power of the emperor and the royal household is weakened while the royal household and the state is at risk when inveigled by the villainous retainers. Considering the fact that lady Jung resolves the conflict by her witty idea, her behavior signifies that the consciousness places more stress on the individual's ability rather than the background of his family. It is also shown that the author reflects the social and cultural tendency in the era by placing emphasis on pursuing the actual profit. Once lady Jung refused the prince's attractive seduction and tried to lead her life rather than fulfillment of wealth and prosperity, but she accepts the offer of marriage from the prince to save her father, Jung-Wook.
Fourth, <Dyunggaknok> leads to the new understanding of the heroine fiction that reveals female character's predominant potentials in the male dominated society. Thost movels-<Eadaebongjeon>(이대봉전), <Hwangwoonjeon>(황운전), <Yoomoonsungjeon>(유문성전), <Honggyeowoljeon>(홍계월전)-give us a clue to understand the stream of the heroine fictions in Choson period. However, the position of the heroine fiction which deals with women's predominance has been confirmed by this story of <Dyunggaknok>. So far the patterns of a heroine fiction has been classified as <Eadaebongjeon> pattern in which a female character exposes as equal abilities as a male, <Hwangwoonjeon> and <Yoomoonsungjeon> pattern in which the female characters control over the males but change into reverse at the latter half, and <Honggyeowoljeon> pattern in which women dominate men on the superior position from the beginning to the end. On the other hand, although <Dyunggaknok> is considered as one of these patterns but it also suggests the new pattern in heroine fictions, since there is hardly seen a hero whose heroic capabilities shall be compared with the heorine's. In the Chosun period, the Confucian ideas and feudal system, a woman was supposed to marry off regardless of her own opinion and serve her husband as well as parents-in-law. In the stream of Choson fiction, <Dyunggaknok> reveals that women in Choson period possibily had a chance to break through the repression the society exercises. Thus the women in the Choson period could assume the idea of upholding female's right.
