韓國人 混合齒列期 兒童의 Leeway Space에 關한 計測學的 硏究 = A Statistical Study on Leeway Space of Korean Children in the Mixed Dentition Period

The main purpose of this study was a Leeway space measurement stastically about Korean children in the mixed dentition period that converting from the deciduous dentition to the permanent dentition. Consequently, author would like to determine the comparative standard of the diagnosis and analysis on the pedodontics and orthodontics.
352 children including 174 male and 178 female were selected for this study. 449 plaster models and 318 film figures of mxillary and mandibular arches obtained from these children (ages from8 to 10 years).
Author has attempted two kinds of the analystical methods for this study. The first analytical method of this study has measured the mesiodistal diameter about the deciduous dentition;the deciduous canine , lst primary moalr and 2nd primary molar. The second one has measured the mesiodistal diameter of the dental periapical film figure's permanent dentition; the permanent canine, lst bicuspid and 2nd bicuspid. In addition to the process of getting the results , author has calcultated the actual mesiodistal diameter of the permanent tooth out of the enlarged proportion of the dental periapical film.
The conclusion of this study by the above-mentioned process as follows;
1. The male Leeway space of the upper was 1.03mm, and the lower, 1.97mm.
2. The female Leeway space of the upper was 1.18mm, and the lower, 2.39mm.
3. The average Leeway space of the upper jaw was 1.10mm, and the lower, 2.18mm.
