잉고 발더만의 성서수업 정체성과 방향성 ‐ 언어 찾기 놀이로서의 성서교육 = The Identity and the Direction of Ingo Baldermann’s Biblical Didactic Discourse on Biblical Class as the Language-searching Game

As the canon of Christianity, the Bible testifies the will of God for the meaning and direction of the world and of humanity. In this way, the Bible is the story of the mutual encounter between God and humans, and the stories reveal each other. In pedagogical language, this can be called bidirectional clarification. Therefore, the text language of the Bible attempts to communicate with the reader, and the reader brings his or her experience into play to interpret and understand the text. In this sense, the Bible is a mutual clarification process between the text and the reader and can be understood as a whole process of recognition, interpretation, and learning that goes beyond the realm of religious scriptures. In this review, I will outline and introduce Ingo Baldermann, a German Bible didactical educator, and examine the critical points that he criticized at his time. Looking at the background and main perspectives of Ingo Baldermann’s interest in biblical didactic, which began in the 1960s and gradually expanded and developed until the 1900s, Ingo Baldermann’s biblical didactic reveals his critical attitude to the biblical classes in those days, which were too biased in theological statements or dealing with statistical analysis. In this regard, it emphasizes the complete and holistic examination of the embedded language of the Bible with focusing on the educational competence of the language itself. Furthermore, he highlights the necessity and justification of biblical theological anthropology from the point of view of educational reconstruction through that content and experience are harmonized together. To this end, we aim for a Bible class that discovers the words that lead to enlightenment in the texts of the Psalms and the Gospels. Ingo Baldermann’s biblical didactic restored the Bible as the main role to the forefront of religious classes. It does not neglect children’s experiences but ultimately aims for hope-learning with experiences of liberation in life.
His educational criticism of the biblical didactic can help us to reflect on the direction of Christian education in modern society.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

성서는 기독교의 경전으로서 세상과 인간의 의미와 방향 속에서의 하나님의 동행을 증언한다. 성서는 하나님과 인간의 상호적 만남의 이야기이며, 서로의 관점 에서 상대를 해명하는 “쌍방 해명 과정”(Wecheselseitige Erschließung)이라 할 수있다. 성서의 본문 언어는 독자에게 대화를 시도하며, 독자는 본문을 해석하기 위하여 자기 경험을 사용한다. 이러한 의미에서 성서의 이해는 본문과 독자의 상호 이해과정이며, 단순히 종교적 경전의 영역을 넘어서는 인식, 해석, 배움의 전인간적 배움의 과정으로 이해될 수 있다. 본 소고에서는 독일 성서교수학자 잉고 발더 만의 성서 교수학의 정체성과 방향성을 개괄하고 분석하면서, 그가 당시의 비판 했던 종교 수업의 비판적 성찰 점들을 살펴보고자 한다. 1960년대부터 시작되어 1900년대까지 점차 확장되고 발전되는 발더만의 성서교수적 관심의 배경과 주요 관점을 살펴보면, 발더만의 성서교수학은 종교수업에 대한 교육 성찰이라 할 수있다. 발더만은 한편으로는 종교수업에서 지나치게 신학적 언명에 치우친 성서본 문의 활용을, 다른 한편으로는 성서를 지나치게 통계 분석적으로만 다루는 교실의 상황을 비판하고 있다. 발더만은 이런 교육 비판과 함께 성서의 언어가 온전하고 통전적으로 다뤄지기를 강변하며, 언어 그 자체가 지니고 있는 교수학적 능력을 신뢰하기를 강조한다. 아울러 교육의 내용과 학습자의 경험이 하나로 어우러지는 기초화의 관점에서 성서-신학적 인간학의 필요성과 당위성을 강조한다. 이를 위해 시편과 복음서의 본문들 안에서 독자의 깨달음을 인도하는 안냇말들을 발견하는 성서수업을 지향한다. 발더만의 성서교수학은 성서를 다시 종교수업의 전면으로 회복시켰으며, 어린이의 경험을 도외시 하지 않고, 최종적으로는 희망과 해방의 경험을 지향하는 희망의 배움을 추구한다. 이러한 그의 교육비판과 성서에 대한 관심은 현대사회의 성서교육의 방향성을 성찰하는 데 도움을 준다.
