명상과 도덕교육의 만남 -"도덕명상"과 "도덕명상교육" 정립을 위한 시론- = The Meeting of Meditation and Moral Education : An essay on establishing "moral meditation" and "moral meditation education"

국문 초록 (Abstract)

이 글은 최근 주목받고 있는 명상에 대한 이해를 바탕으로, 이를 도덕교육과 접목시켜 ‘도덕명상교육’의 기초를 마련하기 위한 시론적 연구이다. 명상은 우주의식의 본질 체험을 포함한, 종교적?철학적으로 매우 복잡하고 체계적인 개념이자 고도의 수행법이다. 모든 종교와 철학사상에서 명상의 형태가 존재하는 것을 보면, 명상은 동서양을 막론하고 인간의 보편적 특성임을 알 수 있다. 명상 연구는 인간의 의식과 영성(靈性)을 다룬다는 점에서 객관성과 타당성의 확보가 과제인데, 뇌과학의 발달로 명상의 과학적 효과가 입증되면서, 명상은 새로운 부흥기를 맞고 있다. 그러나 철학적·사상적 기반 없이 명상을 단순히 질병 치료나 심리 치유에 적용할 경우 위험이 따를 수도 있다는 점에서 성찰이 요구된다. 이에 본고에서는, 명상 연구의 흐름, 명상에 대한 철학적·사상적 이해, 명상의 효과를 바탕으로, 도덕교육적 관점에서 명상에 접근하여 ‘도덕명상’의 개념을 정립하고 ‘도덕명상교육’의 가능성과 그 목표와 방법에 대해 살펴보았으며, 결론에서 앞으로 필요한 ‘도덕명상교육’의 과제를 찾아보았다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This study aims to establish the theory of the moral meditation education based on a theoretical study on and scientific effect of meditation. Recently, people have an interest in meditation from a mindfulness to the medicine curative effect or the therapeutic value. The meditation has a variety of forms in every religion or thought including Confucianism, Taoism, Christianity, Islam, and so on. It is historically religiously and philosophically pretty complicated and profound concept that we should deal with this concept not superficial but careful. This study is a trial of educational approaches to meditation. First of all, I briefly sum unfolding contents of meditation study up, researching philosophical or ideological meaning of meditation. And then I look for the result and meaning by scientific researches. I combine meditation with moral education, by conceptualizing ‘moral meditation’ and ‘moral meditation education’. The former focuses on which one builds his character through spiritual elevation, the latter which on is objective and method in moral education. In conclusion, I suggest task and solution for ‘moral meditation education’.
