As the psychos are mainly locked up or hospitalized in Korea, their psychosis are not cured properly and they are restricted in ordinary social activity losing the social function and role.
It is needed the long-term and continuous treatment and reanimation and the social concern, and guaranteed mental and emotional service as well as the medical service.
In many countries, they have demanded the ethical and legal responsibility of the government and refrained from the long-term hospitalization, and implemented the mental health measure in the community in order to do treatment and reanimation at the same time in the community.
In this research, it is observed the actual condition of the mental health measure in the community and suggested the problem and the improvement plan. The purpose of this thesis is finding a way to the Korean-style mental health service in the community.
The service has the operational limitation as the following reasons. : The public health service is operated by the guideline because the concrete goal and the character of the service are not clear. : The request system between the megalopolis governments is insufficient. : The mental health measure in the community didn't reveal the character of the main operational body and has difficulty in the budget security. : There are restricted policy measures and political and social indifference.
It is not settled the long-term and short-term plan for the mental health service and the stability of the service, and not active the volunteering and volunteer activity. The important thing is the circumstance which the family members are in the center keeping joining and attending the activity continuously.
When both the government and the people show the lasting concerns about the service, establish the policies to put away a prejudice and understand it properly, we can succeed in the mental health service in the community.
