국내외 한국학의 확산과 진흥방안 -한국학진흥사업단‘한국학진흥사업’현황 검토- = The Spre ad and Promotion of Kore an Studies at Home and abroad -Review of the status of the "Korean Studies Promotion Project" by the Korean Studies Promotion Foundation-

The purpose of this study is to suggest ways to spread and promote Korean studies at home and abroad. The research method is to review the detailed current status of Korean Studies promotion projects, including seven domestic and five overseas projects ordered by the Korean Studies Promotion Project service in The Academy of Korean Studies. The conclusion of this can be summarized into 4 current statuses of Korean studies projects at home and abroad and 2 ways of promoting and spreading Korean studies at home and abroad.
First, it was found that 475 research projects were supported across different 7 fields, including 10 Fostering a New Wave of K-Academics projects, 3 Korean history exploration programs projects, 32 Koreanology Dictionaries in Korean and English projects, 32 Collection and Documentation of Manuscripts for Korean Studies, 154 Grand Series of Korean Studies projects, 155 big series of Korean studies projects and 89 Korean Studies Foundation Research.
Second, the rankings of the top distribution by eash task in the domestic Korean studies project are as following in these. The Fostering a New Wave of K-Academics projects are in the order of language, philosophy, and history. The themes of Korean history exploration program were ranked by Korean history, the Korean War, and the construction of a modern nation. The creative research support demonstration projects were in the order of humanities, social sciences, and arts and sports, and in the case of humanities, Korean literature, history, and philosophy were ranked in order. Koreanology Dictionaries in Korean and English was in the order of Compilation of Korean Studies Dictionaries, Dictionaries by field and subject, and Korean Dictionaries of Korean Studies. Collection and Documentation of Manuscripts for Korean Studies projects were in the order of basic data for the Korean studies, basic data research for history, the center of Korean studies material. The big series of Korean studies projects were in the order of personal researches, the series of royal culture, and the series of 20th century Korean academy. The supporting business Korean Studies Foundation Research were in the order of data science (general class)-free subject, data science (translation class)-free subject, data science (general class)-designated subject.
Third, Regarding overseas Korean Studies projects, It was found that a total number of 300 inter-continental research projects over five different fields were supported including 153 Seed Program for Korean Studies projects, 69 projects of Core University Program for Korean Studies, 30 Laboratory Program for Korean Studies projects, 3 Strategic Research Institute Program for Korean Studies projects, and 45 Academic Translation of Korean Texts projects.
Fourth, the ranking of the top distribution of tasks by continent for overseas Korean Studies projects is as follows. The Seed Program for Korean Studies projects were in the order of Asia, Europe, the Americas, Africa, and Oceania. Both Core University Program for Korean Studies and the Laboratory Program for Korean Studies Project were in the same order of Asia, the Americas, Europe, and Oceania. The Academic Translation of Korean Texts projects were in the order of the Americas and Europe, and the Korean studies translation projects were in the order of Asia, the Americas, and Europe. Next, looking at the top countries by continent, the Seed Program for Korean Studies project is in the order of Australia, the United States, China, Kenya, and Spain.
The Core University Program for Korean Studies are in te order of Australia, the United States, China, Russia, Germany, and the United Kingdom. TheLaboratory Program for Korean Studies project was in the order of United States, and the Academic Translation of Korean Text project was in the order of the United States, Korea, and Germany.
