영조의 사친 추모와 소령원 어제어필 현판 = King Yeongjo's Formal Worshipping of His Mother and Signboards with Writings and Calligraphies by King Yeongjo in Soryeongwon

King Yeongjo made efforts for the harvest of his mother, Sukbin Choi. Immediately after his accession to the throne, a shrine was built near the capital city and a huge monument was erected at the entrance of the tomb. In 1744, the names of shrines and graves were given to Yuksang and Soryeong and in 1753 it was upgraded to a Gungwon by posting a posthumous name, Hwageong. After being crowned, he visited Soryeongwon 12 times to express his condolences and engraved on the signboard his longing for his mother. Currently, only some foundation stones remain at the site of the memorial service and the a memorial building, but at that time, Yukodang and Giimgak were standing solemnly, and many signboard hanging everywhere, creating a solemn atmosphere. No king used signboard like King Yeongjo. He actively used the means of signboard hanging to announce his will as king or to express his personal feelings. The various signboard hanging in the major center is a symbol of longing for his mother. None of the signboard hanging that King Yeongjo posted sincerely is on display. Although the signboard as a relic is existing, its contents and information remain in two kinds of books summarized by Yiwangjik.
The places where Yeongjo’s handwritten signboards are concentrated are Jecheong Yukodang and Jasil Giimgak. According to the records of Soryeongwonji and Soryeongsugilwonhonfandeungsa, there were 19 types of signboard written by King Yeongjo and 2 types written by King Jeongjo in the Majewon. Of these, only one signboard was written by King Jeongjo. In addition, it is estimated that there were more signboards written by King Yeongjo and King Jeongjo. This is because rubbed copies of the signboard or sample manuscripts are present. The signboard hanging in Soryeongwon was also the original copy of the work published in Successive Kings' writings. Comparing the work written on the signboard with the final version published in Successive Kings' writings, the ambiguous, clunky, and prose expression was refined in a more specific, complete and literary direction. Based on the time of production of the original, it added to the work that was a long time later. Because it connects the meaning of the work, the work he wrote decades later was also deviated from the previous era. Since the original form of the first work written by King Yeongjo is embodied in Soryeongwonji, it provides meaningful information for grasping the modification of King Yeongjo's work and solves some problems in the editing process of Successive Kings' writings.
