In this thesis, the problems in the descriptions of the origins of Korean thoughts in the middle and high school textbooks were examined, the beginnings of Korean ideas were re-explored through ancient Korean inscriptions including the myth of Dangun, and the ways to write middle and high school textbooks were investigated. The origins of Korean ideologies are found in the high school “ethics and thoughts” textbook, middle school “history 1” textbook and high school “Korean history” textbook of the secondary school curriculum. In the high school “ethics and thoughts” textbook, the beginnings of Eastern ideas are introduced as Confucianism, Buddhism and Taoism, and those of Western ideas as ancient Greek thoughts and Hebraism. Then, regarding the origins of Korean ideologies, the myth of Dangun in Il Yeon's “Samgukyusa” tends to be connected to and described as shamanism. In addition, the middle school “history 1” and the high school “Korean history" have a tendency of explaining the beginnings of Korean thoughts as Korean Totemism on the ground of the story of a bear and a tiger in the myth of Dangun. This introduction of the origins of Korean ideologies as primitive beliefs which can be universally applied to anywhere in the world in the middle and high school textbooks can make the specificity of Korean thoughts and the status of Korean ideas degraded. The myth of Dangun doesn't include humans' wishing for something from a god by being possessed with a spirit or worshipping natural objects of animals or plants. It is totally different from shamanism or Totemism that Hwanwoong, a god, and a bear wanted to live in the human world in the myth of Dangun. Accordingly, it should be avoided to interpret the beginnings of Korean thoughts as primitive beliefs in connection to the myth of Dangun in the middle and high school textbooks. Moreover, in the myth of Dangun, rather than a god and natural objects met and gave new birth to humans, Hwanwoong, a god, and a bear, a natural object, had been already transformed into humans and gave birth to Dangun. Hwanwoong, a symbol of heavenly god, and a bear, a symbol of natural object on the earth, and Dangun, a symbol of humanity, were harmoniously united beings that were essentially one and three, and three and one. Thus, what the myth of Dangun symbolizes must not be defined as that humans and the heaven in a vertical relation corresponded to each other and became one(天人合一) or as human-centered humanism isolated from gods or natural objects. Rather, it's more reasonable to describe that the heaven, the earth and humans(天地人) were originally in harmonious unity, and that human world was also an idealistic world, and an idealistic world symbolized human world. Its meanings can be inferred from that in the myth of Dangun, Hwanwoong, a god, built a city in the human world in order to benefit humans far and wide and also named it Sinsi(神市, a city of god). In addition, when the symbols of this myth of Dangun are interpreted with Il Yeon's “Jungpyeonjodongohwi”, it has something to do with the meanings of Gyeomjungdo(兼中道) that Jeongwi(正位) and Pyeonwu(偏位) are Wonyungmuae(圓融無碍). Above all, what's noteworthy for the myth of Dangun is that it includes the principle(道理) of Hongikingan, the political ideology to change the world(在世理化) to achieve Sininsanghwa(神人相化) through edification, influence, change and evolution. The ideological characteristic of this myth of Dangun is that it was developed into the political ideology of Goguryeo, that is, to govern the world with royal virtues'(聖德) Tao(道) (以道輿治) as in the epitaph of Gwanggaeto the Great. Furthermore, as Hyeokgeoseo(赫居世)'s regnal name referring to ruling the world with bright light(光明理世) shows, its meanings can be seen in Silla's political ideology. The epitaph of King Jinheung's monument of Silla includes the political idea of ch...
