새마을 農村住宅의 斷熱構造에 關한 實驗的 硏究 = An Experiment Study on the Insulating Structures of SAEMAUL Farm Houses.

The insulation structure of buildings is required for the reduction of heating fuel cost and comfortable indoor environment during the winter season, and it is the basic problem for insulating design to search the design condition and appropriate standard value through the analysis of regional climate conditions.
This study aimed at developing the design of insulation structure of rural houses in Korea. For this purpose, the architectural climatic regions are classified by the analysis of regional climate conditions based on the weather records for the last ten years(1963-1972) in Korea, and the required conditions for insulating design and the standard value of insulating design pertaining to the building sections are calculated. Also, the over-all coefficient of heat transfer is calculated and measured for twenty test walls by the Guarded Hot Box type experimental apparatus.
Thereby, the thermal insulation effect is reviewed and examples of insulation structure of rural houses are showed in reference with the Standard Design of Korean Rural Houses which is published by the Ministry of Construction.
The conclusions of this study are as follows;
1. The architectural climatic region in Korea is shown as the Table 1, and its charts are shown as the Figures 1 to 3.
2. The effective temperature in winter which is calculated for 26 cities in Korea is shown as the Table 4, the climatic region pertaining to the effective temperature is shown as the Table 5.
3. The calculated normal heating degree-days(D) for 26 cities in Korea, the climatic region and diagram in terms of the normal heating degree-days are shown individually as the Table 6, Table 7 and the Figure 4.
4. The Table 8 shows the outdoor design ccxlitions of insulating design for the architectural climatic region. The standard values of the overall coefficient of heat transfer in terms of building sections which satisfy the outdoor design conditions in locality are shown as the Table 9.
5. The Figures 7 and 8 show the test walls, and values of their overall coeffici-ent of heat transfer which are calculated and experimented for the insulating structure of Korean rural houses. The relation between thickness and insulating effect for the air space and charged insulator with the building structures is shown as the Figure 9.
6. The Tables 10 and 11 show the calculated heating loads of heat transmission for both the original structure and insulated structure of the 15-1 Model House designed by the Ministry of Construction as the Standard Design of Korean Rural Houses.
In comparision with the original structures, the insulated structures which satisfy the standard value of transmission coefficient in terms of building sections for the locality enable to reduce the heating fuel cost as much as 20%--30%.
