배려윤리의 초등 도덕과교육에의 적용방안

국문 초록 (Abstract)

배려윤리는 기존의 인지도덕발달이론의 성적편견과 이론적 편협성을 비판하면서 등장하였다. 배려윤리는 정의와 권리, 독립성과 자율성과 같은 합리적 도덕성을 중시한 인지 도덕발달이론과는 반대로 배려와 책임, 상호의존성, 관계성과 같은 도덕성의 감정적인 측면을 강조하였다. 대표적인 배려윤리학자라 할 수 있는 길리간과 나딩스는 두 도덕성을 배타적이라기보다는 상호보완을 필요로 하는 불완전한 이론이라고 보았다. 이러한 관점에서 이들은 두 도덕성을 통합적으로 함께 발달시킨 사람을 양성하는 것을 도덕교육의 목표로 설정할 것과 남녀모두에게 배려윤리에 관한 내용을 교육해야 한다고 주장하였다. 본 논문은 배려 윤리학자들의 주장을 우리나라 초등학교 도덕과 교육과정에 적용해 보는데 주 목적을 두고 있다. 이를 위하여 길리간과 나딩스의 배려윤리를 도덕교육적 관점에서 고찰하여, 그 도덕교육적 시사점을 도출하였다. 그리고 배려윤리를 도덕과 교육에 적용할 수 있는 방안을 다음과 같이 제시하였다. 배려윤리에서 제안하고 있는 이상적인 도덕적 인간상을 초등학교 도덕과 교육목표로 설정하고, 배려와 정의 도덕성의 내용이 균형을 이룰 수 있도록 교과내용을 구성하여야 한다. 이와 함께 효율적인 도덕과 교육을 위하여 배려윤리에서 제안하고 있는 다양한 교수방법을 도덕교육에 적극 도입하여야 한다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The purpose of this paper was to illuminate the implications of care ethics in terms of moral education and to apply it to elementary moral education in Korea. This paper was focused on Carol Gilligan and Nel Noddings's care ethics, finding out some its implications on moral education, and suggesting new directions of elementary moral education based on care ethics. Moral education should set up a educational goal of producing moral persons balancing justice and care in their morality in the form of integration and constitute the contents of enlarging care ethical perspective, introduce an educational methods based on care ethics into present moral education for effective moral education.
