病院勤務者의 健康認識과 身體症狀 = The Physical Symptoms and Perception of Health of the Hospital Workers

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The purpose of this these is to analyze the health examination card which recorded the general conditions, including physical symptoms and perception of health, of the workers in the hospital of Dongguk University Kyongju Campus. The number of workers tested are 466, among of them male is 146 and female is 360. The results are as follows.
1. general conditions
In 466 examined, male and female ratio is 3.1:6.9 and 52.9% are twenties. Classified by occupation nurses are 41.2%. The ratio of married and unmarried person is 5.4:4.6.
2. perception of health
1) 10.1% had no medical checkup, 33.8% had once, 23% twice and 31.1% had more than three times. Among of the workers 65.2% replied that they are good in health, whereas 27.5% are unhealthy and 7.1% said they may be taken some illness. Particularly, it is revealed that the aged are more healthy than the younger.
2) eating habits
perfer to eat insufficiently salted : 17%
indifferent : 67%
salty and hot : female is more than male in general.
vegetables : 42.5%(female)
meats : 64.6% of the workers eat more than once a week.
3) tea : 78.1% take more than a cup of tea.
liquor : 57.5% abstain from drinking.
Among of the drinker, 88% of the female drink more than once a week, whereas 9.7% of male four times a week.
In regard to smoking, 74% replied that they are non-smokers, on the other hand, 68.1% of the smokers enjoy half pack of cigarettes a day.
3. The mathods of health promotion
taking a restorative : 88.2%
regrlar exercise : 84.5%
taking food and drink : 71.2%
While women are doing exercise(88.1%) and taking a restorative(90.0%), men take food and drink(72.6%)
4. physical symptoms
The physical symptoms of the workers are as follows.
1) having a cough and phlegm : 12.2%
feeling an oppressed pain : 8.8%
having an uneasy sleep : 5.9%
change of weigh more than 3kg within one year : 26.4%
2) feeling a severe fatigue required a rest : 53.4%
heart throbbing : 25.3%
feeling dizzy : 40.8%
breathing hard when doing exercise : 26%
3) pain at the upper part of the belly : 19.7%
reduce bellyache after taking an antacid : 20%
blech and feel satiety at the belly after a meal : 24.9%
decrease of appitite : 10.7%
sometimes the color of feces id deep-black : 4.3%
4) have a gas in the stomach and feel the symptom of constipation : 27.3%
pain at the under belly : 14.6%
feces with a red blood : 4.3%
5) addict to drinking : 3%
have been to give up drinking : 6.4%
feel remorse for taking liquor : 5.2%
have another drink in the morning : 0.4%
6) decline excitement, pleasure and sexual desire in daily life : 18.5%
feel a melancholy frame of mind : 27%
feel impatient to do something : 11.2%
decrease a retentive memory and hard to concenturate : 25.8%
have a guilty conscience and sometimes regard himself as a useless person : 7.9%
fell an impulse to commit suicide : 7.1%
It shows that the symptoms of a nurse and staff are more serious than a doctor. It is also found that the workers in hospital who are in the twentieth are of a high level to the above symptoms, otherwise workers in the fifties are relatively of a low standard in this survey.
