This study aims at exploring form of Buddhist narrative of divine effect produced in thePeriod of Wei and the Qin dynasty and its character of style. The Buddhist narrative of divineeffect spreaded to all over Eastern Asia along with eastern expansion of Buddhismand was established as a kind of superior narrative. Especially, immense far-reachingpower to ‘Haedong(Korea)’ decided direction of the its early narrative. But there has beenstill no specific spotlight at such fact. if it is specifically disclosed, we can newly knowabout Korean narrative literature in its early times. To this end, it would be a prerequisiteto analyze establishment of Buddhist narrative of divine effect in the Eastern Asia and itsearly appearance, and to explore character of genre. This study started from such problematicconsciousness and tried to figure out its uniqueness by binding Buddhist story ofdivine effect in the narrative of divine effect; the tale of divine effect has been regarded aspart of Jigoe(short strange story) of the Six dynasties. For this, two processes were made. First of all, The relationship with Buddhist tale ofthe Great Monk which appeared in the similar time was examined. At that times, becausethe tale of divine effect and the tale of the Great Monk were writing created to invokeBuddhist divine effect based on eastern expansion of Buddhism, there was very close interactionbetween them. But the tale of the Great Monk accepted the divine effect at thedimension of ‘What should be(當爲)’ while Buddhist story of divine effect secured narrativeby subliming divine effect at the dimension of ‘miracle(驚異)’. Thus, the differencecan be felt. And relationship between the tale of the Great Monk and the tale of divine effectis limited to a case where ‘the Great Monk’ is a material for the tale. Rather the tale ofdivine effect was mainly story of life-lengthening(延命談), story of retribution(應報談) forgeneral people etc. than story of the Great Monk. The story of one`s experiences for theunderworld come from same context was a type to enjoy a peak of narrative and to continuouslygive influences on the next generation. Secondly, The difference with a kind of Jigoe was checked. As Buddhist narrative has alayer as previously stated, this is compared to general Jigoe stories of then times based onthinking of Shamanism and Taoism. Both shares material and motif, and their forms seemto be similar each other. But when looking into their inside, they are much different fromeach other. General Jigoe stories are near form of formlessness dealing with discovery ofstrange world, and human and nature in such world, or wonder according to disharmonyand failure of human inside. Contrary to this, the tale of divine effect could be a simpleand complete form, its content is that reversed or broken reality of human society is overcomeby Buddhist divine effect. That is ‘closed form’. Buddhist narrative of divine effectwas constructed as clear independent style in the Period of Wei and the Qin dynasty, spreaded to surrounding countries in Eastern Asia, and made the structure of narrative literaturestrongly in the early times.
