교회 성폭력 피해여성의 심리적 경험과 치유과정에 대한 질적 사례연구 : 대상관계 이론적 해석을 중심으로

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 교회 성폭력 피해여성들의 내면 경험과 치유 과정을 질적 사례연구 방 식을 통해 심층적으로 탐색하고, 이를 대상관계 이론의 관점에서 분석하였다. 교회 성 폭력은 단순한 신체적, 사회적 피해를 넘어 신앙 대상과 자아 정체성의 붕괴를 초래 하는 심층적 외상임을 밝혔다. 여섯 명의 피해여성을 대상으로 심층 면담을 실시하고, 주제 분석법으로 대상관계 이론적 해석을 결합하여 자료를 분석하였다. 연구 결과, 피 해자들은 목회자나 교회 지도자에 대한 강한 이상화와 신뢰를 내면화하고 있었으며, 그 대상으로부터 성적 침해, 폭력을 입을 경우, 자아 구조 전체가 와해되는 심리적 충 격을 경험한 것으로 나타났다. 이후 감정의 동결, 자기 비난, 신앙 대상의 와해, 감정 인식 및 표현 차단, 하나님 이미지의 붕괴, 자기 존재에 대한 수치심과 죄책감이 심화 되었다. 치유 과정은 새로운 심리적 대상의 발견, 감정 인식과 재주체화, 신앙 대상의 재구성을 통한 내적 통합 과정을 거쳐 이루어졌다. 이 분석과정에서 대상관계 이론은 이상화된 대상의 붕괴와 감정 분열, 왜곡된 신앙 대상의 내면화 과정을 해석하는 데 유효한 틀로 작용하였다. 피해자들은 가해자와 하나님을 동일시했던 내면 구조를 분 리해 가며, 비판단적 수용과 안전한 관계를 통해 신앙과 감정의 재통합을 모색하였다. 상담자는 붕괴된 이상화 구조를 재구성하는 안정적 대상으로 기능해야 했다. 본 연구 는 감정 표현 촉진, 자기 감정 소유권 회복, 왜곡된 신앙 대상의 재구성, 권위적 상담 자의 지양, 회복의 비선형성 수용 등을 상담적 원칙으로 제안하였다. 피해자 지원은 개인 상담을 넘어 공동체 차원의 구조적 개입과 신학적 성찰을 동반해야 하며, 또한 교회 공동체가 피해자를 침묵시키는 기존 구조를 해체하고, 감정적 환대와 회복적 정 의를 실현하는 방향으로 전환해야 함을 강조하였다. 끝으로 교회 성폭력 피해자 상담 은 신앙과 심리의 통합적 회복을 목표로 하며, 상담자는 신학적 상징과 심리적 구조 가 교차하는 지점에서 깊이 있는 동반자로 기능해야 함을 제언하였다. 덧붙여, 본 연 구는 교회 성폭력 피해자의 내면 심리와 영적 붕괴를 분석함에 있어, 단순한 서술을 넘어 이론과 실천의 접점을 모색했다는 점에서 의의를 갖는다. 특히 이상화된 영적 권위의 붕괴가 자아와 신앙 구조에 미치는 영향을 입체적으로 조명함으로써, 종교적 성폭력의 특수성과 이에 대한 상담적 감수성의 중요성을 강조하였다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This study explored the inner experiences and healing process of women who were victims of church sexual violence through a qualitative case study method and analyzed them from the perspective of object relations theory. It was found that church sexual violence is a deep trauma that goes beyond mere physical and social damage and leads to the disintegration of faith objects and self-identity. In-depth interviews were conducted with six victims and the data were analyzed using thematic analysis combined with object relations theory. The results showed that the victims had internalized strong idealization and trust in the pastor or church leader, and when they were sexually violated or assaulted by the target, they experienced a psychological shock that disrupted their entire self-structure. This was followed by a freezing of emotions, self-blame, disruption of objects of faith, blocking of emotional recognition and expression, disruption of the image of God, and deepening feelings of shame and guilt about their existence. The healing process was a process of inner integration through the discovery of new psychological objects, recognition and reobjectification of emotions, and reconstruction of the object of faith. In this analysis, object relations theory served as a valid framework for interpreting the process of disintegration of idealized objects, emotional fragmentation, and internalization of distorted faith objects. The victims disassociated the internal structure that identified the perpetrator with God and sought reintegration of faith and emotions through non-judgmental acceptance and safe relationships. The counselor needed to function as a stable object to reconstruct the disrupted idealization structure. The study suggests the following counseling principles: facilitating emotional expression, regaining ownership of one's emotions, reframing distorted objects of faith, avoiding authoritarian counselors, and accepting the non-linearity of recovery. It emphasized that victim support must go beyond individual counseling to include structural interventions and theological reflection at the community level, and that church communities must dismantle existing structures that silence victims and shift toward emotional hospitality and restorative justice. Finally, it was suggested that counseling for victims of church sexual violence should aim for an integrated restoration of faith and psychology, and that counselors should function as in-depth companions at the intersection of theological symbols and psychological structures.Furthermore, this study is significant in that it went beyond mere narrative to explore the intersection of theory and practice in analyzing the inner psychology and spiritual disintegration of victims of church sexual violence. In particular, it highlighted the specificity of religious sexual violence and the importance of counseling sensitivity to it by illuminating the impact of the collapse of idealized spiritual authority on the self and faith structure in three dimensions.
