The concept of omniscience(sarvajna) in Indian Philosophy means that being (human/God) possesses truth such as dharma, heaven(svarga), liberation(moksa) etc. beyond the scope of knowledge about empirical world. In other words, the term Omniscience is indicated a person/god knows reality (tattvajnata). This term is used not only in the tradition of Brahmanical philosophy but also in all religious traditions, including Buddhism, Jainism. In addition, in order to establish the authority of their religious claims, each school differently understands, interprets, and comments on the term in accordance with its purpose. Kumarila Bhatta(fl. roughly 700) one of the most prominent philosopher in the history of Mimamsa, cannot in any case admit the possibility of the existence of omniscience being in order to defend the authority of the Veda. Thus, he denies the existence of omniscience being from various perspectives. This paper examines the meaning of omniscience being based on his texts, such as the Slokavarttika, the Brhattika which is lost text but partially appeared in the Tattvasamgraha written by Buddhist philosopher Santar aksita. I analyzes the logical structure how he argues the impossibility of existence of omniscience being and explore his foundational purpose. Whenever Kumarila says `to knows everything`, everything means everything except dharma. If it indicates everything including dharma it must be denied and rejected. For instance, the scope of perception and dharma is basically excluded each other. Perception deals with recognizable world of experience while Vedic injunction deals with domain beyond perception. It means that each cognition has its own region and can never be overlapped with each other. Therefore, it is impossible for human being to know dharma without relying on Vedic injunction. This logical structure is supported when Kumarila interprets the phrase `without vedic injunction`(rte vacanat) of Sabara he exactly distinguishes the realm of each cognition. In the Brhattika, being who knows everything is directly limited and indicated knows everything but dharma. It strictly distinguishes between the person who knows dharma and the person who knows everything, so it does not include dharma in everything. However, in the Slokavarttika, there is no strict distinction between the person who knows dharma and the person who knows dharma and the person who is dharma. If omniscient being recognizes everything including dharma such being cannot be acceptable in the Mimamsaka theoretical system. In other words, if everything does not include dharma realm no matter how arguments there is no problem. Like the other schools of Indian philosophy, Kumarila supposed the theory of `intrinsic validity`(svatah pramanya) as epistemological foundation for denying the existence of omniscience being. It is basis for assuring vedic authority and human beings can only know dharma and achieve final goal through vedic injunction. For Kumarila, dharma is ultimate happiness for human being and final goal that is only prescribed and regulated by vedic injunction. Human being never know dharma by the power of their own, not without veda. Thus, the all debates of Kumarila can be concisely summarized `through vedic injunction human beings only know dharma.` Therefore, it is reasonable for Kumarila that because human beings have limited ability there is no omniscient being in terms of real.
