인문학 중심 대형 과제의 사회적 성과와 방향성 일고찰 - 한국연구재단 HK+지원사업과 HK3.0사업을 중심으로 = The Social Achievements and Future Directions of Large-Scale Humanities Projects - Focusing on the HK+ Program and the HK3.0 Program of the National Research Foundation of Korea

국문 초록 (Abstract)

이 글은 인문학 중심 대형 과제의 사회적 성과와 향후 미래 방향성을 일고찰하기 위해 기획된 것으로 한국연구재단 HK+지원사업과 HK3.0사업을 연속적으로 검토하여 인문학의 학문적 지향과 사회적 의미를 성찰하는 데 목적을 두었다.
먼저 제2장에서는 HK+사업이 지역 인문학 프로그램, 교양총서 발간, 인터뷰 기획을 통해 사회적 성과를 창출했음을 실증적으로 드러냈다. 이를 통해 인문학이 동시대 지역 사회 및 대중과 긴밀히 호흡하며 학문적 지평을 확장해 왔음을 확인할 수 있었다. 그중에서도 HK+지원사업 성과는 인문학이 대학과 학문 공동체 내부를 넘어 공공적 학문으로 자리매김할 수 있는 가능성을 보여주었다는 점에서 의의가 크다고 하겠다. 다음으로 제3장에서는 HK3.0사업이 HK+사업의 성과를 계승하면서도 사회적 기여와 문제 해결, 지속 가능한 인문학 생태계 조성, 인문 리빙랩 운영을 통해 사회적 기여를 도모한 양상을 중심으로 사회문제 해결형 인문학을 지향하고 있음을 밝혔다. 결과적으로 HK+사업이 인문학의 사회적 파급력을 검증하는 장이었다면, HK3.0사업은 이를 제도적·구조적으로 정착시키며 새로운 학문적 패러다임을 열어가는 단계로 평가된다.
종합해보면 ‘인문학’은 더 이상 지식의 축적에 머무르지 않고 동시대의 위기를 분석하며 그 속에서 새로운 지적 패러다임을 창출하는 학문으로 거듭나야 할 시점에 도달했다고 여겨진다. 또한 HK+지원사업과 HK3.0사업의 성과를 검토한 본 연구를 통해 인문학이 학문적 의의와 사회적 파급 효과를 동시에 구현할 수 있음을 확인하였으며, 이는 한국 인문학의 향후 발전 방향을 전망하는 데 중요한 근거를 제공한다고 할 수 있다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This study was designed to examine the social achievements and future directions of large-scale humanities projects, focusing on the HK+ Program and the HK3.0 Program of the National Research Foundation of Korea, in order to reflect on the academic orientation and social significance of the humanities.
Chapter 2 demonstrated that the HK+ Program produced meaningful social outcomes through regional humanities programs, the publication of liberal arts series, and interview projects. Through these initiatives, the humanities were shown to have expanded their academic horizon by engaging closely with local communities and the public. In particular, the achievements of the HK+ Program confirmed the potential of the humanities to move beyond universities and scholarly communities and to establish themselves as a form of public scholarship.
Chapter 3 further revealed that the HK3.0 Program, while inheriting the accomplishments of the HK+ Program, sought to advance problem-solving humanities by emphasizing social contribution and problem resolution, the construction of a sustainable humanities ecosystem, and the operation of humanities living labs. As such, while the HK+ Program can be evaluated as a stage that tested and validated the social impact of the humanities, the HK3.0 Program represents a stage that institutionalizes and structurally consolidates these outcomes, thereby opening a new academic paradigm.
In sum, this study confirmed that the humanities must no longer remain confined to the accumulation of knowledge but must be reborn as a discipline that analyzes contemporary crises and generates new intellectual paradigms. Furthermore, by examining the achievements of the HK+ and HK3.0 Programs, this research demonstrated that the humanities are capable of realizing both academic significance and social impact simultaneously, thereby providing important grounds for envisioning the future trajectory of Korean humanities.
