This is a study on the shooting forms of three female players on the top-ranking list of the world archery, who participated in the 9th Asian Games. The purpose of this study is to write a proper prescription for the training of the players' shooting form and its influence upon the record, by making a functional analysis on DAA(Drawing arm Angle), BPA(Bow perpendicular Angle), AHA(Arrow Horizontal Angle), BAA(Bow Arm Angel), RHD(Release Horizontal Distance), RPD(Release Perpendicular Distance), RT(Release Time) and FTT(Follow Through Time) which have a decisive influence upon the shooting form. The outline of this thesis is as follows;
1. DAA
The shortest upper-armed BYS's DAA was the biggest and the longest upper-armed KMY's was the least of the three subjects. The arrow group distribution and the record of BYS who had the widest deviation were bad, while those of KMY who had the least deiation and the lowest mean value were good. As the result, the ideal DAA can be said to range from 1°5' to 3°5'
2. BPA
BYS' BPA, 3 degree on the average, was the biggest and KJH's, 2 degree, was the least. In the light of the fact that the shortest BYS's BPA was the biggest, is can be inferred that, first, she did ovee drawing, second, the strength of the bow was not suitable for her physical power, third, the choice of arrows was wrong.
3. AHA
BYS's AHA, which was 0.1941 degree, was the biggest and the tallest KMY's, 0.017 degree, was the least. Cosequently, AHA can be said to have a close correlation with the height. The AHA of KJH on the top-ranking list of the world archery, was 1.57 degree, the medium of the three subjects and her erroneous difference between shots was 0.01 degree. Furthermore, it seems, that her condition of bow arm and draw arm was good, and the position of nocking point and arrow rest was accurate. Therefore, the position of nocking point and arrow rest can be said to have a great influence upon AHA.
4. BAA
The BAA of each subject was analyzed in order to know the most desirable Bow Arm Angle. It was shown that the tallest(166cm) KMY's average was -0.58 degree and the shortest(156cm) BYS's was +0.67 degree. KMY was estimated to maintain the best BAA of the threessubjects, so it might be effective for KJH to lower bow by about 1 degree.
5. RHD
The moved distance of the central point of elbow joint at the moment of release was measured in order to know the release style, the umecessary shaking of upper body at the time of release and its subsequent effect on arrow group. As the result, it was in inverse proportion to the height as the shortest BYS's average was 8.9147cm and the tallest KMY's was 6.6722cm. In the release style, the three subjects all together adopted the sliding release. Therefore, it's proved that physically short player with short upper arm has considerable disadvanages at the release.
6. RPD
The perpendicularly moved distance of the central point of elbow at the moment of release, was measured. The release style what can be called the last motion in shooting was observed, and the relation of physical condition and RPD was analyzed.
7. RT
The time that it would take for the elbow to move as for as RHD was measured and analyzed in order to know the most ideal RT. As the result, it was proved that the concentration, holding and relaxation of the player and her figers pulling the cord at the moment of release were correlative RT is thought to be in proportion to RHD, as BYS with the farthest RHD has also the longest RT. And also it's proved that the release was not done in the state of relaxation because the whole balance of upper body's muscle necessery to release was broken by attempting over drawing in order to induce the same strength as the long upper-armed player.
8. FTT
FTT of the subjects in shooting motion was measured and analyzed in order to find out the mutual difference and the most desirable FTT.
As the result, it was found out that the three players all together practised Follow Through for too short time Therefore, it's proved that Follow Through over at least 2 seconds is requised to maintain more sufficient time and reflect shooting form through Following Through.
