전문대학의 구조조정이 경쟁력에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구 = (A) study on the restructuring strategy to enhance the competitiveness of private colleges
This study was to enhance the losing college competitive power because of reduced matriculation. For this purpose, this research analyzed the current situation and problems of college and the disputed points with real evidence for their restructuring strategy. From all of these, giving the suggestion for our private college's policy direction is the purpose of this research.
This study was proceeded with analysis of related document, related laws and practices and preceded researches. Through the interviews of the faculty of college and the officers of related problems, education scholars, representatives of industry gave the suggestion for direction of future colleges. Also, visiting the conference of Korean colleges we analyzed the accumulated documents. And practical analysis was used to collected data.
The biggest problems of the college are the relation between colleges and the companies is not firm, colleges can't graduate the professional employee who have the ability to adjust to the environment by imitating the university. Also, there is plunge in the source of matriculation and without special educations almost their student were stolen to university. That made the empty spaces in the classrooms and only 2 or 3 years of study made that they can't adopt the changes of the industry society. By taking lessons from the disputed points and current situation of the our colleges find the ways for enhancing the competitive power of college are like below.
First, it is important to graduate the professional people who have the ability to adjust himself in the field. By relating industry and education it is urgent to graduate the professional people who can be adjust himself in the field in short amount of time.
Second, the education course must be reformed with the changes of the generation. To make the educational revolution with the competitive power for college they should set the various department like for the getting license, for the practical business by the analyzing the occupation, for the demand from the industry.
Third, there should be more flexible in education like interaction, establishments, merger among departments. Interacting the similar department with close colleges and merging two different colleges which are in the same corporation into one college.
Forth, the ways for securing professors must be reformed. As the colleges' purpose is for the graduating professionals so the professors who have background in the field should be evaluated higher than the professors who have background in the study.
Fifth, Colleges should develop the source of potential students like establishing the life time education for professions, community profession education center and luring the foreign students from east south asia where many our companies are dispatched and the housewives and workers for with the education for them.
Sixth, the colleges must struggle for its competitive power through self reducing its staffs and there should be efforts for securing the money by activating the profit making business.
Seventh, the government should suggest the policy direction and long term future vision for colleges to make them graduate the professional human resources who have the ability to adjust themselves in the field.
The government should also support of the money and policy to make the relation between industry and education better and the gradation support of money according to the evaluation.
To make these suggestions for the competitive power of college works the foundations and conditions must be set before that. To overcome this endangered situation of colleges there should be mutual cooperative relationship between government or municipal government and industry, colleges for reducing the self reductions and merger or close of similar department for the developing the demanded department from industry.
Especially, government should develop the policies like constantly supplying for the special college education for develop itself to be a competitive occupational education and enlarging the support from national money for the college's ability to graduate the professional human resources who have the ability to be adjust themselves in the field.
