일반계 고등학교와 대안학교에서의 미술교육 현황 연구 : 제7차 미술과 교육과정을 중심으로 = A current study of fine art education in public high school and alternative school : Based on the 7th education curriculum of fine art

The Korean education system has repeatedly changed and improved from the American period till today`s 7th education curriculum since being emancipated. This research examines the effect of 7th education curriculum on Korean Fine arts education and how it has on effect in the field.
The objective of the 7th education curriculum is to cultivate wholesome humanity, originality, being loyal to the foundation of instruction and extending one`s ability to adapt better in globalized and informationized society. This system is being operated based on student`s capability, aptitude and the best course for one‘s suitability as well as expansion in self-control operation, distriction and organization of school`s education process. Llikewise, korean fine arts education has presented an intergration of education process in art`s 'understanding', 'expression' and 'sentiment', which characterize individuality, creativity and esthetics in the modern society that were centered around culture. Each unit (K-12) of school is proceeding Fine arts class based on the intergration of education process in school`s real situations.
At the beginnig in 2009, a revised of 2007 education process, which contains instruction contents reflected social and cultural change since the 7th education curriculum(1997.12.30), will be enforced in order by year if it is necessary The importance of art class has gradually decreased due to the university entrance exam which demands only for prerequisite subjects university, which forces students to recognize art class as a less important and a careless subject. as a result, it has created a concern for our younger generation`s esthetic vision and ability to criticize.
Hereupon, this research studies the difference in art teaching between the alternative schools that appeared in the 1990s and public schools to find an alternative way for public education. Also, the questionnaire answered by the teachers who guide these students has been compared and analyzed to discover a more effective instruction program for art class.
The questionnaire had been distributed to 1896 students among 13 alternative schools and 4 public high schools throughout the nation from June to August, 2008. It had been collected from 1010 students from 8 alternative school and 3 public schools. we have learned from this survey that the class time is insufficient so that new teaching system is necessary.
Following the research, art teaching in public schools needs to be more practical and closely associated in our life style. It also needs one`s sentiment to develop an esthetic vision and ability to criticize as well as an actual plan of connection in being more expressive. moreover, a selection of education content and a structure of education course must be properly achieved in flexible the systematic plan so that each and every student can make the most of one`s ability.
