The fine-art is a field of arts that express whose ideas and feelings which getting from various experience activities, and that understand self and out world through interchanging feelings each others about images. So, it's the purpose of art education for student to fertilize their happiness through enjoying the high leveled culture then cultivating an excellent artist. Therefore, they say that the role of teacher is very critical for this destination. The distinctive quality of 21th century is an information oriented society of various visual medias, and then it's very urgently required to educate children visual literacy for their independent lives.
Now is the time for new waves which exchanging and new practical balances onto art education, because that severe criticism about art education which attached too much importance to expression field of inventiveness by owed to Victor Lowenfeld(1903-1960) whose idea have been thoretical foundation of modern art education ideas.
The purpose of this article is suggesting effective methods of art appreciation to make student improving their expressiveness, fertilizing their susceptibility from attending to desirable art appreciation activities. For accomplish this purpose, I analyzed research data of teachers and students of kyungnam province. And compared the result with that of Japan.
It's been more emphasized then any other times in 7'th Education Process that the capacity of comprehension about art and importancy of education of art appreciation. But teachers have some problems in it. They have scarcely have tools for educate their student. Never the less, authorities, masters and especially teachers themselves have low awareness about changed Art Education Process.
It's proved in my result of research that art appreciation lesson do not carry out efficiently in most cases though it's been understood fairly. They pointed out a part of repletion for the size, quantity, colors of reference art, and think that student so larely have chance for appreciate traditional art to highly concerned with traditional art, and they usually apply any internet contents because there isn't any museum in their nearby. Primary schools in Japan, they have Art Education process similar to korea, and they make good use lot of student's works, and use slid films more frequently then internet contents. Eventually, It show me that they uses more various materials then korean teachers in art appreciation lessons.
I conclude as follows to try to inventive activity of art appreciation, and to achieve the aims of art comprehension, based upon my analysis about various causes that art appreciation lesson couldn't be carry out efficiently.
The first, As are for comprehension of art, It's very important for teachers to study and training about art appreciation. they must have abilities to project on the spot lessons in a gallery with art specialist, to lecture on student about works of art in gallery. This can extend artistic inventiveness of student.
The second, the authority have to increase chance for on the spot learning in various galleries by extension art curriculum, as much as emphasized to a part of appreciation in '7th Education Process, and have to provide complemented teaching materials which they could make good use to art appreciation lessons.
The third, we can get an effect on inventive art appreciation lesson and can provoke interest to art appreciation lesson if we could apply various evaluation method, like ethnographic technique, assesment by portfolio, debate, etc.
The fourth, we have to length a power of self-leading learning from making student to analyze, discuss contents of art unit by themselves.
The fifth, the authority have to support traditional art education continuously from composing contents of art text wit balance, promote teacher's study and training about traditional art connecting with art study organizations.
The sixth, the authorities have to support various materials for art appreciation lessons with long term project at same time master's cognition changes about art education is needed. It could promote teachers to try to use it into a art lesson.
The seventh, We can achieve educational aims if we could provide to student a lot of chances for attending to various programs through constructing museum or making village galleries like Free School in U.S.A and art club activities of village gallery in German.
